This is a great hostel with friendly, welcoming hosts! I found the bed to be really comfortable and the room to be spacious and clean. The common areas are also nice and relaxing and there was a large space for bicycles. The two hosts were exceptionally nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

Not much! It was a bit far from the centre of the city and buses are not so frequent but I would give it up for the amazing hospitality and care of the hosts any day!

Extremely homely vibe. The hosts were absolutely fantastic. They truly went out of their way helping to introduce me to roommates, getting to know me, making me feel very welcome and cared for. I don't think I've had such a genuinely lovely hostel experience like this before!!

Everything was perfect

I loved the homely feel of the hostel, Singma and Singba were just incredible people with hearts of gold. They would do our washing and hang it out to dry. It really is a place that makes you feel like you are home with familiar people.

it was perfect. if you are in Taiwan It is worth going to Taiting just to stay in this hostel, it is THAT good.

this is a truly 10/10 hostel, best I have ever been to. everything is clean and comfortable, but the true gem is the hosts, they are the most hospitable people I have ever seen. It was a pure joy to spend my time with the hosts and guests. they drove us all to some sightseeing and to eat some tasty food, they even make the laundry for you! It feels as if I have stayed with my wonderful aunt and uncle from an alternative universe.

The location is near the station which is not in the city. But if you plan on going on day trips from the station it is very good.

Our experience at this hostel exceeded all expectations! The cleanliness of the place was exceptional, and everything from the rooms to the common areas was comfortable and well-maintained. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to ensure that we had a fantastic stay. We enjoyed spending time with them, whether it was sharing travel stories or receiving local tips and recommendations. For us, this was the best hostel experience we've ever had, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay.

Great atmosphere and people here! ❤️ Star mom and Star dad are awesome!! Super welcoming and warm! ❤️ The hostel is super clean and the ambiance is homey. The first floor is an inviting setting for conversations and dialogues. The location is close to the Taitung's train station, which is away from the city center, and scooter rentals are all around. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Taitung.

I usually skip breakfast and so did not have breakfast there. The hosts offered me coffee though. All areas have been kept very clean and tidy. Very special hostel with hosts who are very helpful and informative. All can see that the hosts have been very devoted and put a lot of efforts in running the place.

The hostel is absolutely beautiful, all furniture is made by the owner himself. He and his wife are wonderful people that make the hostel feel like home. I felt so comfortable with you guys, thank you so much for giving me such a great time! You should definitely come for the great conversation with the owners and the lovely lemon beer and vodka! Highly recommend especially to solo travellers who want to feel at home :)

This is hands down the BEST hostel I have ever stayed at and I have stayed in more than a hundred hostels around the world. Ohana is owned by a lovely and caring family who really takes care of you at the moment you step foot on the property. The warmth and hospitality they offer make you feel like part of their family!🌟 I will definitely come back next time I am in Taiwan

This is by far the best Hostel I've stayed in Taiwan. It is located close to the Main Station. Beds are comfortable and it is very quiet, so you get a very good night sleep. The Hostel is very clean and well organized. The Hosts are lovely and put a lot of thought into that Hostel. 10/10

I didn't 'dislike' it, but my only slight improvement would be curtains on the bed.

Everything! Just like the other reviews say, this place is special. Location is close to the train and bus station (but not the city - indeed, no hostels are. The government changed this apparently). Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are large, refrigerator is stocked with drinks (+ instant noodles) with an honesty system. Towel rental is free, hair dryers in the dorms. But the gem of this hostel is the family that owns it. They're so sweet, and speak good English. From helping plan your days in Taitung, to encouraging group conversations in the common room, ordering food for you - they make this place amazing. I would've stayed in Taitung longer just to stay here if I didn't have my trip planned. My girlfriend wasn't feeling well one day and they checked on her regularly throughout the day. She felt very loved! Wonderful hostel. They have had a journey too: they used to be in Taitung centre, then had to move and build their hostel from scratch. Many of the facilities are actually built by the dad! They have a photobook documenting their story. Very cute.

the hosts were so accommodating and really made it feel like a home. I have so much love for them, and really are great people to spend time with and have good conversations with. I really appreciate the time I spent with them, and are probably one of the main reasons why I would want to come back to Taiwan. 10/10 and would recommend to stay there any day of the week, also a bonus is that it’s so close to the train station so it takes no time to get there! Thank you for being so kind :)

Bring some time if you stay with these lovely couple. The facility is nice, clean and has anything you need. They will make sure that you feel welcome and adopt you right away in their family. The hospitality is truly outstanding! If you need darkness to get some proper sleep, bring a sleeping mask with you.
