We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United StatesThe owner recommended getting to his hotel and getting around the island by electric bicycle. It took us awhile to find a shop that offered them, but we finally found one and it was just fine. Most people, islanders and tourists both, travel by motor scooter; rental shops are everywhere near the ferry port. The little desk in the room is too small. (But in the downstairs entry room/gallery there are tables you can sit at -- more comfortable if you're using a laptop.) No breakfast is available. You have to go out.
The owner is very helpful, especially if you have a friend who knows Mandarin. (His English is limited.) The most remarkable thing about him is that he's an amazing artist -- carves cats and nothing but cats, and some of them are quite beautiful. They are on display in the entry room, which is like a gallery. The shower in our room was one of the best -- strong and hot.
