Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Good location, and friendly staff. Do make sure to connect on WhatsApp for instant communication, especially for early or late arrival. Walking distance to various food options. The room I stayed in was small, but adequate if you don't bring enormous suitcases.

There is a "guest lounge" but not functioning at all (its stacked with lots of decorative stuff). Appreciate can create a space for guests to sit and relax and socialize （and able to do some paper work will be better）.
The location is at the heart of Tainan Street food heaven, plenty of selection all day long. Although the room is small （understandable as it is converted from old house）, but has most of the basic and functioning well.

The window of the upstairs room looks out onto the (open-air) hallway. It has curtains, but the room might not be ideal for travellers with high privacy needs.
Beautiful hostel in the heart of Tainan. Generous rooms and amenities, very helpful staff.

Convenient location especially for delicious food options around, bus stops to go to Anping as well as the main road for nightlife in the Tainan central western area. Very responsive, kind and attentive staff. All amenities included, especially laundry. Quiet vibe and relaxing feel. Very fair price for the whole package.

Really well done place. The single rooms was bigger than expected and very well done. Great value. Everyone was very nice. Wanted to stay longer, but it was already fully booked. Such a nice cute place.

The room was clean and spacious, providing enough room for us to move around and open two 28-inch suitcases comfortably. The location was fantastic, just a minute's walk from the famous pork lard rice!

Cheap price but very big room and great amenities. It doesn't feel like a standardized hotel room but more like a specifically designed cosy home. I could feel the hospitality and also culture vibe in this property.

This is arguably the best option for budget travelers in Tainan. Close to a number of tourist attractions like the Confucius temple, the Koxinga shrine, the Southern Gate and the Art museum, it is located in a narrow and peaceful alley. The staff are very kind, intelligent and helpful and can provide you with all the practical and tourist info you might possibly need. And everything with a smile. ❤️

Amazing place! Very comfy and stylish, here you find all that you need. Due to unusual plan of the building you can hear when someone else enter to theirs room, but this is actually only thing (or someone can look directly into your room through window). Highly reco!

Walk to the top floor, but no big deal.
