Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainIt is a nice hotel inside the natural park area, so it is very convenient for exploring the trails and going to see the sunrise. It includes a buffet breakfast at a restaurant nearby (not the best taiwanese food but plenty). We find the price expensive, but it seems to be the rule in this area if you want to stay in the park grounds.

United StatesThe facility were among the worst we had experienced. The value of money. The rest of the staff were not that friendly.

MalaysiaStaff not helpful. Receptionist not willing to help with bags. There's only stairs without elevator - a big problem if you have huge luggage. The shutter van driver was very rude and scolded me when I was 1 min late to departure. He complaint that the 1 min late has taken up his time - as if he's so busy. Overall I would not recommend this place.

New ZealandThe beds were very firm, which might bother some. Also the breakfast option wasn't worth it for us - after trying once we just went to 7Eleven for our remaining days.
It is a very affordable hotel within the Alishan National Forest. The hotel is maybe a 5 minute walk down steps (or walk the road on the side) from the restaurants, shops, and train up into the park. It was a great home base for us while exploring Alshan for a couple of days.

SingaporeThey do provide room heater, the bed is abit tough but quite comfortable. They also provide quilts that are quite thick and provides the necessary warmth. The shower is strong and hot. The receptionist also provides some recommendations and tour routes. Their breakfast is at the restaurant at the shopping district. The hotel is quite near to the park entrance and the train station.

SloveniaThe room and equipment inside is old.
Alishan natural park is a great location. The room was big and comfortable, with a separate area for sitting and realxing during the day. The room had all the amenities you need for a short stay. Drinking water available in the hallway. Storing luggage before and after check-out is not a problem.

Hong KongNo shower curtain in the bathroom.
Since the hotel is no lift, it is required to carry heavy luggage to the top floor room of the hotel. Hotel staff is helpful to upgrade our room to the lower floor as our request. They are nice & good enough.

SingaporeThe hotel needs serious upgrading. Everything looks old and shabby. The bedsheet has hairs and I seriously doubt that they changed it. Bed super hard and pillows also abit hard. There was a piece of food plastic wrappings left behind by previous occupier on the bedside table. The toilet also looks dirty and old. Really regretted booking this hotel.
Location was ok.

MalaysiaNothing except for the small towels, really.
The location was really strategic, right inside the park. The hotel picked us up from the bus stop (it was a short 3-min drive). We came prepared after reading all the negative comments about the hotel, brought our own towels and prepared our own hairdryer, was even prepared to lug our bags up the stairs. But to our surprise, it wasn’t that bad at all. We got a room on the ground floor, right behind the reception (no need to walk the stairs!), our room was neat and clean. Yes, the towels were small, but everything else including the shower, hairdryer and heater worked well for us. The pillows and bed were just right for us too, not too hard as per many other reviews. The best part was the hotel offered a private sunrise tour at NTD300 per person so we didn’t have to wake up earlier to take the train. According to the ‘tour guide’ at the sunrise viewing spot, the place where we were brought to has the best view compared to other places. We managed to catch a full view of the sunrise as the weather was really good. The staffs were generally friendly too.

TaiwanThe beds were absolutely the worst beds I have ever slept on in my life. The pillow, was like a stone and the mattress was like concrete. The heat doesn't come on until 9pm... but it was 3 degrees C when we arrived after lunch, so we had to bundle up in our hotel room before then. Oh, and you have to pay $500NT entrance fee just to get in to the park for any of these hotels. They didn't seem to mention that when I booked.
The location is good, I suppose. All the hotels in this area are kind of grouped in a half circle, so location is not applicable.
