Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ThailandIf you come by a large taxi, the lane is too narrow, so you might have to walk 50 meters to the hotel front door. On rainy nights, the sound of rain drops on the roof can be a bit loud.
The location is very convenient to Guo Hua Street full of good eats, yet the hotel is in a very quiet/peaceful area. The hotel is a very thoughtfully converted old building, with a convenient elevator/lift retrofitted in. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom had a fully deep (Japanese-style) bath tub you could soak in.

SingaporeWe experienced a wake-up call for an expected earthquake at 3 am, nothing much anything anyone can do about it. Nothing much happened as it was quite far away.
The rooms were nice and clean. The place is very near the markets, many places to shop near by.

GermanyGreat accommodation in the heart of Tainan. We felt very comfortable here. The accommodation is very central and yet located in a quiet side street. The building is very modern and cosy with wooden elements and a bit of industrial charm. The details are well thought out, from a very nice smelling shower gel to a nice designed city map for tourists. The two hosts are also very friendly and strike the perfect balance between discretion and courtesy. As we are tall, they gave us a free room upgrade. We can highly recommend the accommodation and would be happy to come back any time we are travelling to Tainan.

United StatesNothing!
The Atreeium (La Locanda) is a beautiful stay in the central district of Tainan. There is a feeling of nostalgic Taiwan with an accompanying green atrium that textures the building’s warm and open sentiment. The artwork along the entrance foyer and metal work design gives this stay a Brooklyn touch and feel (I’m from New York City). The room (double deluxe) is clean, spacious, and smartly designed. The washroom products are Tainan-made and are another nice addition to the comfort of my stay. There are all the accompaniments one could imagine, which also include fresh aircon, full bathtub and shower, super comfortable and clean bed, a washer dryer (in the building), an elevator, free bikes, assistance with discount parking. They are also located in a small alleyway (like most of the neighborhood) so it is quiet and peaceful at night. The couple and their son that own and manage this place are deeply thoughtful. I had mentioned wanting to buy dried mango (it’s a speciality in Tainan, and in season during the summer!) and had asked for recommendations (they have some great ideas for gifts, and small Tainan eats). During the day, they ran out and bought fresh mangos to share with me. For many Taiwanese and Asian families - giving fresh cut ripe fruit is an expression of love and care. I was deeply touched. The family reminded me of mine, and I hope to come back again to visit. Tainan has been one of the most memorable of all cities in Taiwan - with this stay being the central reason to my experience feeling welcomed and relaxed. What started out as a two day trip to Tainan extended to three - there is no reason other to say that I was drawn to this city!! 🧡 I’m deeply grateful that they shared their home with me. 我很感激!

United StatesI wish there could've been more community at the hostel. It was very quiet and as a result very comfortable and I guess is the tradeoff.
The couple running the hostel were wonderful! Very kind and helpful whenever we were confused or needed assistance. I thought the accommodation itself was beautiful, comfortable, and in a great location.

ThailandThe place is good. FYI, Tainan doesn't have MRT and it takes very long time for a bus to arrive, and very packed in rush hour. No seats at bus stop as well. Taxi or uber is main transportation here.
Warm welcome. Cozy place and clean. Big room. Good water flow.

South KoreaBooking dot com website says Atreeium accepts several types of credit card, but it doesn't. Please be prepared with the lodging expense in cash.
Atreeium is located in a quiet alley but in the middle of bustling and popular streets. Just 30-seconds walk leads you to great diners and shops. Some Tainan historical sites are also near the hotel. The hotel does not provide breakfast because Tainan City is famous for many bistros with good breakfast. Please enjoy the mouth-watering local breakfast at a nearby restaurant every morning while you stay here. If you stay for many nights here, there is a laundry machine as well on the ground floor. The owner of the hotel is a designer and full of historical knowledge of the city. So even if you are not familiar with the town, he will let you know where to visit. I was actually short of local cash when I arrived at Tainan because I had to pay a lot for hospital treatment for my son who broke his tooth when he stayed in Sun Moon Lake the day before I headed to Tainan. So the owner of the hotel even lent me some cash for my shopping as the majority of the local shops accept only cash. He was sure that he can come up with the idea how I can return it to him. However, at this point, I was more than overwhelmed with his warm-hearted hospitality and kindness. Thanks to my local friend, I could return it, but I just still cannot forget their warm consideration for a mere visitor.

Awesome hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and super helpful. A typhoon hit Taiwan while I was there and the normal train was not running but I could stay if needed. However they helped me to find a high speed train that was running. The room was also perfect. Very clean and spacious. Good shower and bed. The location is very convenient close to lots of food options, the art museum, Mazu temple and Chikan tower. Highly recommed La Locanda/Atreeium. I had a lovely stay. .
