Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainThe receptionists were not really nice nor helpful, you can’t use the common area after checking out (or even go to the bathroom while picking up your bag).
It was really clean, well located and you have a view of the city from your bed !

GermanyIt doesn’t feel warm at all, more like a „sleeping factory“. Staff is friendly but not exactly welcoming, no one of the guests was social at all. Room was packed with people and as you can’t open a window it was very bad air in there. There are rules for literally anything, you won’t be able to push a single button without having to read special regulations for it.
Good location, close to main station, metro & tram. Clean, comfortable bed, many amenities provided.

United StatesThe shared bathrooms should be cleaned more regularly and the trash taken out especially after the busy hours after 7pm when everyone showers and before checkout time.
Convenient location from exit 4 of HouYi station just a 4 minute walk. A family mart and PX mart nearby.

FranceI came earlier to let my baggage but nobody was at the reception because of a renovation. The hotel should have sent a warning message in place of the automatic message by Booking (which said the reception is open...) Lockers are available in the subway station downstairs so it was ok

United StatesNothing.
The space was well taken care of and nice. Right next to the subway, which made it easy to get anywhere in the city, plus super affordable! Of the nearly 60+ hostels I've stayed in, this was one of the top ones.

United Kingdom- only allow you to store bags for a certain time and don’t let you use the facilities (toilet etc) after 4pm after checkout - they asked us to leave when going to get our bags that were in storage. (They tell you this is their policy upon checkin so was not a surprise to us but just to be aware)
- amazing view of the city from the double bed! 10th floor - double bed in 10 bed dorm was so comfy with such comfy bedding - great location centrally, near train station, right by metro on red line, really central and easy to get around - free juice in the hostel! - nice touches in the bathroom including toiletries and hair bands and cotton pads - best hostel that we have stayed in in Taiwan! - lockers in the dorm for valuables - enough space in the dorm (we only had 1 other person in there in the 10 bed dorm in March)

GermanyToilets/showers are located in the common area, so you need to walk through the whole area while people are working or eating there. The female shower/toilet area was not very clean.
We liked our stay in PaperPlane. The building is right next to the subway station and the hostel is located on the 10th floor and has an amazing view over the city. There is a free drinks machine with very nice choice of drinks (very refreshing). The dorm was spacious and clean. Our bed was also right next to the window and we had an amazing morning/night city view.

MalaysiaWe had the double-bed in a mixed room - was slightly stuffy, but that was probably because someone adjusted the air-conditioner settings in the night. The couple in the next bed also had their phones on loud vibrations - the entire night; it was bearable, but slightly annoying.
The location was fabulous! It was located right next to the Metro station, and made for easy transfer. Lots of surrounding breakfast/lunch places too! The room was great! Big bed, comfortable sheets, great view from the bed. Love the locker safes, and the slippers they made everyone wear - I love the idea, instead of having everybody trudging around in a mixed shared bedroom with questionable shoes! Clean and spacious shared toilets/bathrooms too! Free juice dispenser at the lobby too, so we saved a little on sweet drinks when we were craving something juicy and sweet and had already gotten tired with boba (gasp the blasphemy). There were guava tea (my favourite!), apple cider (my partner couldn't get enough of that) and mixed fruit tea. The machine only operates from 7.30am till 10.30pm, but that's plenty of time. :D Huge shared fridge too, with provided sticky labels and pens :D

United KingdomIt’s a quiet hostel which is fine with me as I am not madly social but it didn’t have a great vibe to it. Not the cleanest hostel bathroom. Lockers are ridiculously tiny - barely fits a daypack. I don’t know what fragrance they used in the common room but it was so strong and so unpleasant that it gave me a terrible headache. The slipper/outdoor shoe rule in the common area was confusing given that you had to walk through the cool room in your outdoor shoes to check in 🤷🏼♀️ but after that it was slippers only (but you are potentially walking anything brought in by those checking in into other parts of the hostel - not ideal) CASH ONLY which feels unnecessary - the only time I have come across this in Taiwan.
The bed I was in was a double bed with an amazing view of Kaohsiung. It was comfortable and private.

NetherlandsThe hostel isn't huge, but still quite a lot of beds. Like with other bigger hostels there is little to no social interaction with other travellers. Asian/local tourists tend to stick together, so you have to be lucky to meet other like minded travellers to hang out with. I didn't like the facts that the toilet and showers are on the other side of the hostel. You have to walk through the conmon room to get there, which is kinda annoying in the middle of the night. Also, it was a bit hard to find the hostel. I did get a message through Booking with a link to get some directions, but the link didn't work so I had to find the entrance myself. Tip: it's on the side of the building, floor number 10.
Very clean hostel in a great location in Kaohsiung. Close to the metro (exit 4) and close to a lot of cute bars and coffee shops. The rooms are big and have a fantastic view of the city. Price is fair!
