There was no breakfast. Beds were comfy and the location was great. They have a minion's theme going on there which we thought was kind of fun. Owner was super wonderful in helping us find a driver to take us to Taroko Gorge for the day. The driver was reasonable and very informative.

- exceptionally well furnished room, very comfortable, modern and clean - the tiered floor with a few stairs gave a warm and homely feel to the room, welcoming you to lie down and relax on the big comfy beds with lots of pillows - spacious, both the room and the bathroom - very friendly and helpful host

Because they do not clean your room, it would be helpful to put some basic necessities on the corridor (toilet paper etc). As there also was no staff present.

Everything was perfect !

- Great guesthouse in a small street in the center of Hualien (10-15min walk to the train station and around 25min walk to Dongdamen night market) - Big room with a terrace, a comfortable bed, all the amenities, good AC, a fridge, a kettle + tea/coffee - The owner is so kind and friendly, he prepared a basket with fruits and some local candies + soft drinks and bottles of water before my arrival

A note that staff are there to welcome you and check in but they don't have anyone manning the front counter, but you can message them via the app and they will reply fairly quickly! Also, no lift so in case you're carrying heavy luggage or don't walk so well, either ask for a lower room or be prepared to have to carry your own luggage downstairs when you check out (the staff helped to carry it up during check in!)

Location is a short walk from Hualien train station just off the busy main street so it's quieter, but lots of food and convenience shops nearby. Room is clean and comfortable and there are some Taiwanese snacks to welcome you as well. Has a homely feel and could be somewhere to stay in for a longer period if needed. There is a roof top laundry room with washing machine and detergent you can use for free – you can dry things up there or there is a laundry line/hook you can use in the balcony as well.

Not very clean, lots of trinkets around the room full of dust, edges of floors also dirty, at one point cleaners didn’t replace the floor towel for the shower and there is never any staff on reception. Road was so noisy that the balcony was pointless. No Mountain View.

Location was a block off from where it says in Booking.com and it was not possible for us to find it on Google maps. Also note that the front desk is not always staffed, so it is helpful to be accurate with your check-in time in advance. (Although the staff did come fairly quickly when I messaged on booking that we were here.) It was also difficult for us to figure out the air conditioner, and the pillows were large and hard.
