Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe electric sockets were pulled off the wall. The location of the room was just right near the walkway. Felt like the staff were on the window from the outside talking loudly.
The breakfast was basic but worked.

United KingdomNot like a proper hotel, but a convenient guest house. The fittings in the room and bathroom were just passable. Not the cleanest. Please be careful of the steps on the floor at ground floor.
Very good natured manager and staff. Very helpful. Location near the town centre and availability of transports. Convenient for tours and hiking. Breakfast in morning was good. Good view of Mt Kilimanjaro range, but not mostly seen due to fog or clouds. Value for money.

United KingdomMoshi city centre is accessible, however be prepared for a little walk or a Tuktuk ride.
Zack was an excellent host who was very friendly, accommodating and helped to organise excursions. During our visit the accomodation was quiet and relaxing. the breakfast each morning was delicious, s was the dinner option. Had it not been cloudy, the view of Kilimanjaro would have been spectacular.

Staff super kind and helpful. the view is very good. If you're going to Kilimanjaro, you can easily left some of your clothes and unnecessary things there. Good to have the option to have dinner there.

GermanyVery lovely staff and the best chicken curry in Moshi! The have a cute cat that is very vocal. They will also assist you with organizing all sorts of day trips. The water in the shower was cold and they did not have a generator while we were there - yet. They were organising one while we were there, but during our stay the power cuts in the city affected us in the hotel too (no possibility to charge our phones..)

United KingdomPerhaps the hotel needs a little updating, but for the money, you can't go wrong.
This is a budget hotel, which is great value for money. The staff, Nick, Zak and all are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble from collecting from the airport, to some unforgettable trips. A one day hike up kilimanjaro and a waterfall walk with coffee roasting and making. Zak took us to the market and a local bar. All amazing. The food is basic but lovely. Breakfast omelette and pancakes are delicious.

United KingdomHere’s your review with corrections for grammar, spelling, and phrasing: Despite the positive aspects of the property (well-located, relatively clean, and good value for money), there was one major drawback that put a damper on the whole experience: Zach, the house manager/host. Concerns were first raised when he called a tuk-tuk for us and said we should give the driver 10,000 for a 3-5 minute journey. Then there was the dinner, which he charged 20,000 for. There were numerous other issues. The most notable, though, was when we asked to have our clothes washed, and he said it was 2,000 per item. However, when the lady returned with our clothes (after washing), she told us it was only 1,000 per item. I don’t want to sound picky—we have stayed in many places cheaper and simpler than this, and they have never done this to us. However, throughout the experience, we felt like we were staying in Zach’s house rather than a hotel. He would often be sleeping in the common areas, walk into our room unannounced, and frequently listen in on our conversations. In conclusion, I would recommend this place, as it is very well-located and good value, but I do think management needs to address the concerns mentioned above.
The property was nice, well located and relatively clean. For the price it is good value.
