Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesA Hidden Gem in the Heart of Nature – Truly Unforgettable! My stay at Paradise Eco-Hub Lodge was nothing short of extraordinary! Nestled on the serene Itambira Island in Lake Bunyonyi, this eco-friendly lodge offers breathtaking views, a peaceful atmosphere, and an authentic connection with nature and the local community. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly and passionate staff, who ensured I felt at home. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Waking up to the sound of birds and the gentle waves of the lake was truly magical. The lodge offers a variety of unique experiences—from a scenic boat tour around Lake Bunyonyi’s historical islands to hiking trails, local craft shopping, and even tasting traditional banana gin! Every moment was filled with adventure and cultural discovery. One of the highlights was the delicious farm-to-table meals prepared with fresh local ingredients. Whether it was a hearty breakfast by the lake or a cozy dinner under the stars, every meal was a delight. Beyond just a lodge, Paradise Eco-Hub Foundation is making a real impact in the community, supporting conservation efforts, education, and healthcare initiatives. Staying here means you’re contributing to a meaningful cause while enjoying an unforgettable getaway. If you're looking for a tranquil retreat, eco-friendly travel experience, and an opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty and culture of Uganda, Paradise Eco-Hub Lodge is the perfect destination! I can’t wait to return!

AustriaIt was really heavenly. Even while it rained, we could sit in our terrace and read. We saw otters and bunnies and little birds flew into our room in the morning and delighted us with a song. What a trully magical place ❤️ The staff was also super friendly and accommodating.

Czech RepublicThe island is pretty small and there is not so many places to go for a walk.
The location is on the island and it is easy to get there by a boat. The lodge is very nice and clean. the staff was nice. There is an option to tap a filtered water, so you don't need to waste so many plastic bottles.

Japan*Hot water didn't come out from the shower. * A kayak rental is overpriced, US$7 per person. Better to hire someone for the kayak tour at the port.
*Very quiet location in Bunyonyi lake. You can enjoy the view from the restaurant. *All staff are nice and kind. *Food is good. You must try their African breakfast.

United KingdomSometimes there was no power in the sockets when the day was rainy as it is a solar powered place. It was usually during the night though. Laundry service rather expensive.
After reading the reviews of many hotels around the Lake Bunyonyi we decided to choose Paradise Eco Hub. Our Queen Cottage room had no doors, so you wake up in the morning and see the lake through the mosquito net, calm, silent, just birds in the background, what a great concept. The bed was big and very comfortable, one of the best we had so far in Africa. Food is very tasty, you have to order it in advance but once you know the rule it’s not a problem. People working there are so friendly and helpful, always with a smile. Silas and William helped us with sorting our way to Kigali , thanks a lot! WiFi is only at the reception but the signal was strong.

New ZealandThis eco lodge is solar powered with delightful staff and a wonderful view over the lake from the verandaed stilt house dining area. It's isolated and tranquil with some traditional huts for accommodation. We sat upstairs on the covered verdanda for hours, drinking beer, using the wifi (intermittent but it does work!) and watching the huge national bird (crested crane) fly over head and nest in the trees nearby. Loved the view. Also ate meals there - of course a bit more expensive than in town but still fairly priced and tasted good. Free purified water offered. (no shops on the island) Take a taxi or moto from town to the boat (20 mins). Then take the little boat with outboard motor (book ahead with the lodge). (Lodge will tell you how much to expect to pay for the taxi). We were there in the rainy season and still loved it. Appreciated the hot showers after trying out the traditional wooden dug out canoe in the rain! Really recommend this place if you enjoy simplicity and nature away from the busy towns in Uganda.

United KingdomWiFi is very hit and miss.
The hotel was great. I was sick during my stay but the staff and management took amazing care of me, ferrying me to and from the nearby hospital and staying with me until I was discharged. The views from the restaurant and our room of the lake were spectacular and it was a great place for me to convalesce. The restaurant menu is varied and extensive and everything always seemed to be available which is unusual in EA ;-) There is plenty of birdlife as well as free roaming rabbits and chickens to give a 'back to nature' rural feel. They really care for their guests.

PolandIt’s a beautiful, quiet, and slightly isolated place. The service is amazing and the food is great. I managed to work on a project using my cellular data. Both MTN and Airtel work fine on the island, though outside of the room.

GermanyNothing to complain! It was heaven after a couple of days on the bike!
The staff and manager were extremely helpful, friendly and always ready to assist whenever we had a question. We loved the downtime to relax at the beautiful dock, eat delicious food and enjoy the lakeside dome! The scenery is stunning. It’s a bit tricky to get there, especially when coming by bike, but the manager reached out to us ahead a time and helped us wherever he could to make the journey as smooth as possible! It is 100% worth traveling the bumby roads to get to this little paradise! On our way further, they shuttled us and our bikes to the North shore of the lake which saved us time and energy. Thank you for your service and all your kind help. We definitely recommend staying here if you look for relaxation, beautiful views, epic canoe trips etc.

South AfricaThe fact that we were not told in advance that the free Parking and teansfer point is due to bad road conditions nearly not reachable even with 4x4. Guests should be informed on booking.com that it costs an additional transport fee for the boat of 30.000,- UGX each way to the island.
The open hut "King's nest" with it's own pier to go swimming in the lake was phantastic! Beautiful view on the lake. Very peaceful. Greate experiance and relaxing. We extended our stay to 4 nights.
