Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaThe service was not great. Had issues with safe and bathroom . But I couldn't get the staff to attend the issue. Also the reception staff were poorly trained.

United KingdomIt is such a shame that this hotel is quite historic but it is easily discernible that it has completely lost its lustre and charm as soon as one walks in. I used it for nostalgic purposes. It wasn’t worth it. The hygiene is awful. My room was so dusty. I ended up sneezing so much. The white towels are so old and worn out that they are have a tinge of yellow. Talking of hygiene, before i slept, I asked for tea bags from a chap at the reception desk - I believe called Emma. He was doing something on a computer screen/key board and went out at the back. Without washing his hands and with an astonishing lack of self-awareness, I saw him come with two unpacked tea bags in his fingers and gave them to me. I was so shocked and disgusted but I accepted them and simply threw them in my room’s bin. The Aircon in my room (216) must have broken a couple of years ago that they haven’t bothered to fix it. What is such a shame is that most of what is wrong that with this hotel can easily be sorted if management put their minds to it. I wouldn’t pay £79 again for such a room given that there are better boutique hotels that have a far better service and have sadly outcompeted such a once- upon-a-time - respected hotel.
Julian, the front desk receptionist who checked me in was superb. The shower head, and its pressure, was brilliant. The colonial-era beautiful wooden floors and doors are superb as I used to remember them decades ago. The bed was comfortable. Robert, the bellboy was kind and excellent with his service.

UgandaThey charged more than it should be as they apply what they called "their exchange rate" as if the currency rate is something they can choose. Sad they have to do that to trick foreigners. Also, the apartment was in other building and you must cross a washing bay to reach it, no too glamorous. The apartment is like a motel and the breakfast poor.

Germanyold, loud, dirty and musty, invaded by hookers at night in the lobby, bar and they use the rooms! avoid this place unless you want to be in the hot spot of the red light district. I moved to Speke Apartments Kitante which is 100% better!

South AfricaThey gave us a cheaper room than the one we paid for (without a bathtub) and when I asked where the bathtub was they told me the hotel had no rooms with bathtubs. Then there was no hot water AT ALL - we waited for 1 hour for it to come but never did. At complaining about that we found out that the staff was annoyed that we did. I then asked for a refund at which point after some hubbub they gave us the actual room I had paid for (with a bathtub!?) and fixed the hot water (I think they were not willing to turn on the central heating for just a couple of clients). Overall it took us 2 hours of struggle and frustration to settle in a room and have a hot bath.
Rooms were spacious, beds comfy, TV working and movie channels working.

United KingdomVery minor and certainly didn’t spoil my stay, but you can hear everything in the corridor because of the beautiful wooden floors and doors… but please don’t ever change them! They’re beautiful. But light sleepers might want to take earplugs.
Beautiful place. Parquet flooring in the rooms. Large private balconies with a lovely view over the Sheraton gardens. Close to everything I needed. Fantastic pillows. Sitting on the balcony watching Kampala wake up with a coffee was a lovely start to the day. I stayed for five nights and all of my friends stayed at the Sheraton. I wouldn’t have swapped for the World (but I did sneak in to their swimming pool!). The whole hotel is gorgeous. Feels like stepping back in time. Loved it!

IndiaThe room service would barge in without notice, laundry services were delayed,
There was an Indian restaurant in the hotel which gave us a good option. The breakfast buffet was pathetic beyond words, there was hardly anything to eat. I would carry my cheese along with me, get bread from the restaurant and have a cheese sandwich for breakfast.
