Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe only thing I would suggest is to fix the elevator security so that only people staying on the floor can access it but the front desk is monitored so nobody can access the elevator unless they check in at the front desk. The staff get to know you very quickly so they know who should and should not be there.
The location was fantastic! It was walking distance to all of the Broadway shows. We could go out to eat and stay out late because we weren't trying to catch a train back to the hotel. The staff are super helpful and friendly. It was perfect for what we needed; a central location, with quiet, clean rooms.

United StatesI wish they vacuumed the floor and wiped down the surfaces every day. The bed is a double (so very small for two people) and the mattress & pillows aren’t very supportive, so sleeping is a little rough. The bed is also practically on the floor, which was difficult for my very tall (6’3”) husband. The room is so unbelievably tiny. I think this place must’ve been a youth hostel before it was converted into a hotel, based on the layout. They can barely fit a double bed and a desk in the room. There isn’t a closet, just a short & tiny nook for hanging a few items. The safe takes up 1 of the only 3 drawers— and the 2 usable drawers are very shallow and narrow. The sink in the bathroom is so small you can barely fit both hands in at the same time. The AC is an ancient, window-style AC unit that is very loud and rattles aggressively and cannot be set to continuous usage. There is no fan in the bathroom, which makes it a little awkward if you’re staying with another person due to being practically on top of each other no matter where you are in the room. The TV is very old, so if you are a streamer bring your own HDMI cable to attach your phone or tablet. It smarts to pay over $300/night for less space than you find in a typical walk-in closet. The lobby is sketchy, the elevator is sketchy, and the attached bar has disappointing food quality (although the drinks were quite good).
Rooms are very clean— impressively clean. Fresh sheets and towels and bath mat every day. The bathrooms are very attractive and CLEAN, and the shower is glorious. A rain shower with good water pressure AND a handheld shower head. That was luxury. Provided two fresh water bottles every morning. Tiny (tiny) mini fridge behind a cabinet door. Has AC in every room. Staff is extremely kind and helpful. Location is incredible if you’re looking to stay in the heart of the theatre district. The attached bar serves a good (albeit EXPENSIVE) cocktail.

United StatesMy room was very small, which is fine for one person, but 2 may be a bit crowded. The AC works but is LOUD!! The room was decent and clean, but I wish the hotel had a teeny more decor...like...for example....framed showcards on the walls. Like those nice signed ones where they raise money for Broadway cares/Equity fights AIDS. It's called Hotel Shocard, so why not? Everything about this hotel is small. The lobby is just a counter, the hallways and elevator are small, but I'm small so I was ok with it.
This was a small boutique hotel, like if you're walking by and you blink, you'll miss it. BUT you can't beat that location. It's in the middle of everything. And when it comes to the sleep quality, I slept very well considering there's a siren going off every 2 seconds in the area. I rarely heard other neighbors and the housekeeping respected my do not disturb sign. The TV had decent stations, and the internet signal was strong. The water in the shower comes out HOT!! And there's a mini fridge which kept my waters and leftover Junior's cheesecake nice and chilled.

South AfricaThe windows don’t open so during my whole stay I couldn’t get Gods fresh air, so even though there was Aircon, it was a stuffy week for me. The room was super small. I think I found it shocking because I’m from South Africa where space is usually generous.
The location was perfect and the staff were friendly. The renovated bathrooms were also very cute with the gold finishes, loved the aesthetics.

United KingdomThe showers took a little getting used to. To get them hot they had to run for a while and then controlling temperature past that point was a little tricky but not impossible.
Great location for tourists. Very easy to get to via the Subway. The place is quiet despite being in a very bustling part of the city. The rooms are tidy, clean and nicely decorated.

United Statescharged my card without my knowledge or permission when I was told I could pay when i got there. incurring transaction fees for foreign currency and splitting the cost of the hotel on a card I didn't want to use... staff were unhelpful over the phone when my initial booking was cancelled due to a card error (we tried to call on the day that we were notified but couldn't get through and the next day we were able to get through but the room was already cancelled and we were told there was nothing they could do) I was also told that the charge was only going to be o NE dollar so I was very surprised to find a charge of over 300 dollars for half the stay on my card when I made a new reservation.
comfy, Great location, cute but small rooms. good access to everything that you need in the city including a metro station with most lines just down the road. food places nearby, a cute bar and very reasonable rooms for the price and location.

United StatesBed was a little soft. Room is a little small, like you can’t do pushups on either side of the bed only barely enough space at the foot of the bed.
Super central, like right smack next to time square. Bug slice of pizza next door at Carnegie Pizza. All good as we only had 5 hours in NYC before we had to head back to airport in the we hours of the morning so it was great to shower, see Time Square and get a first glimpse of “modern day Rome,” rest for an hour then head back to JFK. $177(plus tax) well spent.

Location is perfect. Rooms were clean and modern looking. All basic amenities were available in working conditions as promised Staff was exceptionally helpful. They held my luggage after check out for free and called for cab in good time. Five stars service
