The instructions were clear not to walk around or bother the ranch hands and we didn’t. However it would have been nice to walk down to the river on the ranch road. We thought of contacting the host to ask permission when animals were clearly not in that area but ultimately didn’t. Growing up on a ranch, I get it, but it would have been nice. This part of the ranch is a horse ranch.

Boulder is a remote location, and this was a few miles out from it. If u like peace and quiet, this is it! And a beautiful location. This is a very large nice apt above a stable that was unused. Although u saw some ranch hands occasionally, there wasn’t anyone around most the time. No bad ranch smells at all. We loved it. Although there r extremely limited services, there is a small store and a couple restaurants. Unbelievably one is a James beard awarded restaurant that was amazing. Get reservations as soon as u can for the Devils Backbone Grill. Be sure to take the Burr Trail to Capital Reef. It’s doable with any car. Stop at singing canyon. I think any would enjoy staying in here.

Well, the first few nights were cold, low 40s, so star viewing on the deck was brief. Otherwise, nothing that we didn't like.

This spacious place, off the beaten path near the tiny, charming town of Boulder Utah, was perfect for our week in gorgeous South Central Utah. The view from the upper deck, greeting sunrise at dawn and a sky full of stars at night was a moving experience. The apartment and staff were gracious in every way. We were surprised at how well stocked it was. The kitchen was fully operational with pots, pans, spatulas, even a blender. Windows were large and the views included grazing cows and horses, mesas and the beauty of nature all around. The beginning of the 66 mile Burr Trail is close by and there's nothing like driving the Burr Trail switchbacks!
