Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesRooms were extremely small. We need two queens for the four of us and this was one of the few NYC hotels to offer that. Most only have 1 King or 2 full. My teens should have had their own room, our bad... just trying to save a little money. Extremely tight fit. No real way to unpack my luggage. No view which is fine but added to the claustrophobia I felt. I've been on cruises with larger rooms and accomodations. Otherwise nice enough room. Had everything we needed.
Location was very convenient and staff was helpful. Close to coffee shops and plenty of casual diners and nice small restaurants and very close to convention center, shopping and times square.

CanadaNoise from the streets (Times Square) at all hours of the day and night (honking, emergency sirens, etc). Parking is very expensive and not directly connected to the hotel.
Location is great! Walking distance to many things, super close to the subway to access further attractions and there are so many restaurants/stores nearby. The room was very small but comfortable with all the essentials. Free, hot cookies are great!

South AfricaRoom was tiny, but at least well appointed. It would be nice if there was an ice machine on each floor.
The front desk service, particularly Fran, were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location was very nice, close to Penn Station and a relatively short walk to Times Square and Macys. The warm chocolate chip cookies were great. The lift was also fast, so moving floors was not a hardship.

United KingdomFor a King room, the bedroom space felt extremely tight and the decor was not quite what I expected (in the entrance hall of hotel) compared to how enhanced and sparkling the online pictures look. My booking wasn’t on the system when I arrived which was a little stressful and I had to keep asking questions instead of being reassured which was disappointing.
The location was great, and the bed was comfortable and shower / bathroom high quality.

United Kingdomthe staff was rude but I actually didn’t care much because when I stay in this kind 4 stars hotels I already know how the staff is and I travel only to enjoy the place where I go to I don’t care about people, but obviously I would have expected more gentle staff and not someone who rolled the eyes when I asked twice my room number. unfortunately this world misses of kindness.
hotel was very central (times Square)

SwedenOnly negative was the price. But it was a trip in December so kinda pricy everywhere. Breakfast was pricy. We went out for breakfast everyday instead.
Location was perfect for a 5 day trip. Walkable to almost every attraction of our interest. Felt modern with a friendly staff.

United KingdomThe room was small which we knew but the only window was right in the corner of the room so it was quite dark for getting ready doing makeup etc. Lighting was also limited so we had to use the bathroom light and leave the door open to brighten up the room.
The location for us was great, right near the station we came in from. Close to Madison Square gardens. The beds were so comfy and great blackout at night. Shower nice and warm. Warm cookies on arrival were great.

United StatesThe pillows were huge bricks. Very painful and terrible for my neck. We asked for different pillows and got some foam pillows. They were equally huge and not much better. Very uncomfortable. Also the thermostat was locked at 68 degrees. Our room got hot and we couldn’t lower it. This resulted in poor sleep. This will prevent me from coming back.
The location, staff and cleanliness were all excellent

United StatesIt is bit pricey but likely because of the time of the year. The king room was a bit small and we were facing a building. At booking you have a choice on which view. Pay attention to that detail if that matters to you. You pay more for the better view.
I have stayed in many hotels. This hotel was very clean. The room and bathroom were clean with modern touches. Plenty of places to plug things in. The bathroom was also clean- no mold or yucky ceilings. Just fresh. A coffee maker in the room was convenient. The staff was friendly. I was able to leave my luggage at checkout time with until my flight departed so I could tour the city. The location isn’t far from Times Square but it’s technically not Time Square. That fact makes the rooms a little more affordable.
