Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaHappy hour was a bit feeble, made use of it once only.
Our room had 2 double beds, shower in bath, barfridge, safe, bathroom accessories and coffee pod machine which was replenished daily. Breakfast was the same daily however, was more than enough. Location was very central, close to Times Square being between 7 & 8th Street on 40th West Street and close to takeaways. Our room had no view but we did n't go to NY to look at the view from our room! Considering 30 floors lifts were very fast and no long waits. Left luggage stored free of charge which is really a bonus as most flights leave in the evening - also check out is at 12 noon which is fabulous normally have to be out by 10. The lobby staff were brilliant -we were allowed into our rooms immediately which was a bonus - must mention Giancarlo who was very helpful many times and a special mention and thanks to KEVIN who - at very short notice had to organise a shuttle to JFK after our shuttle driver failed to arrive and we were on a tight deadline! All lobby staff have to be commended - they were helpful and always had a smile. If you would like a room with a view make sure you book early. This is not a high end hotel - but is reasonably priced and has all the necessities.

United StatesThe elevator situation was frustrating at times. One was out of service and during busy times it could take up to 10 minutes to get up or down from your room
Perfect walking location in Midtown- close to Times Square. Easy subway access to get everywhere else. Breakfast was awesome with hot & cold options. The fitness center was great.

United KingdomThe area for eating breakfast was quite small, which is understandable given the hotel is quite small but it meant there was a lot of tables crammed into a small space. The breakfast was lovely, but perhaps a time booking system for breakfast would be better to stop the overcrowding.
Anton on reception was incredible. We were originally placed on a low floor and after speaking to him to see if we could be moved to a higher floor he did everything he could to sort it out for us. We were travelling for our honeymoon so the extra steps Anton did for us really made it extra special.

United KingdomNoisy rooms could do with soundproofing because of location. A/C not working this time of year and was very warm the first 2 days. Decor a bit dated. Area around hotel could be a little intimidating for first time visitors.
Stayed in this hotel 2 times now - Location to Times Square was excellent, subway right across the street. Water facilities on reception convenient. Free water in room a nice touch. Bed comfortable. Room space ample with plenty mirrors. Nice city view from room.

IrelandThe location was excellent, near all the amenities and transport links in Manhattan. The staff were also courteous and great help. Despite letting us know that it may not be possible for the room to be cleaned due to staff shortages and covid restrictions, our bins were emptied, and sheets and towels were changed every day. Highly recommended for a simple stay where you plan on roaming during the day.

United StatesThe only complaint was that the shower leaked and required using one of the towels on the floor to keep the water from going over the entire floor.
Location was good, close to the subway and walking distance to restaurants and attractions, many places within 1 mile. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

CanadaFurniture is a little dated. TV was very small. Could hear the people in the room next door laughing. Area is right by Port Authority station and smelled like weed 24/7. Some homeless people around if coming home after dark, especially with kids.
Location is great - about a 10 min walk to Times Square and tons of food options around within a 5 min walk. Room was available early when we arrived (1 hr earlier than their regular check in). Staff was friendly. Easy check-in. Room was small (but average for NYC), but lots of storage space. Washroom was clean. FYI - hotel staff will not allow food delivery up to your room so you’ll have to meet them/pick up your food at reception. We were not used to this but it is probably for the best for safety reasons.
