Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkThe apartment is NOT modern. Its not luxury. Things are broken. A door cant be locked. The fan in the bathroom is broken and makes a loud noise if you turn it on. The sink in the bathroom is broken and water stays there for a long time. The apartment was clean, but not all over - kitchen table had some sticky stuff on it in some areas. Last thing that you should consider: Cannabis is legal in NYC. Someone living there - maybe the owner or friends were smoking at least twice a day and the smell of it was in the stairs and in the room. I have nothing against someone using it, but if you cant stand the smell, maybe look for another place to stay. But remember that the smell of cannabis is in many places in New York. For the four of us, we thought this place was good value for money and we got to see and experience many things we wouldnt have, had we chosen a hotel room closer to downtown.
We stayed at this place for 10 days in October 2023. Booked through booking.com. The neighborhood can seem a bit sketchy, especially after dark. We did feel safe enough and met many friendly people in the area. Only went out after dark a few times though. That being said, if you do choose to book a stay here, you are in for an authentic experience, instead of a boring hotel room. There are plenty of shops around to get all kind of amenities, or you can choose to get it delivered by one of the many apps like Grub Hub, Food Panda etc.

United StatesOne of the bedrooms share 2 couple beds and 1 single bed which makes uncomfortable because if on person wakes up all the rest will wake up immediately with the noise. additionally the bathroom is no accessible if the single bed in assembled, it stays in front of the bathroom door. besides, the floor makes loud noises when you walk and this wakes up everyone else too. atop of there, to go to Manhattan, it is about one and a half hour or more, take that into consideration.
Very comfy and good area for a big group.

United KingdomThe outer door locked however the actual house front door did not lock and the upstairs door lock was only a latch lock which would not matter as the door to the side of the internal front door opened with just a push. I feel this needs to be addressed for safety. The apartment is a good size especially for the price in New York area. I would just say it needs a little bit of an update in some areas and a refresh and maybe a declutter to appeal more to the family market. The only other area of concern were some of the switches and wires could they be sorted as electrics showing should not be allowed anywhere especially if there are small fingers. In the kitchen could someone look at the cabinets as a couple were looking tired and were in need of a little TLC. Infact if I had one thing to say give the place a bit of love and it could be an amazing place to stay.
A good location about a 15 min walk to the underground. The area felt safe and was generally quiet. There was plenty of space in the apartment 3 good sized bedrooms all double and one small off shoot room for a child or single person. There were 2 bathrooms both had showers and the water was hot. There was a good sized dining table and a decent living room space with a TV for relaxing in. The apartment was one of a number in a brown stone house. This was the top floor one we liked that. There was small problem in the flat and the owners sorted this out very quickly credit to them. The kitchen worked well the cooker was good and the microwave and coffee machine were all in good working order as was the fridge. There was pretty good heating even when it was-23 but keep it on don't turn it off because you get too warm as it took a while to warm back up again.

United StatesThe location was fine overall, however there were a few physical issues with the place, like: a broken lock on the (inside) side door, an exposed wire or 2, and some cracks in the wall plaster, etc... but overall, it met my expectations. A minor issue was there were a few things missing including: soap, paper towels, any kind of saucepan, and garbage bags for the smaller/bathroom garbage containers. Also, the actual address was 2 miles (15+ minutes) further away than the address would have indicated, causing a greater difficulty to get to my events.
The location was spacious, and the neighborhood was (city) residential and reasonably quiet. Anthony was available downstairs if needed and was very friendly.

AustraliaThere could have been more facilities eg dish drying cloths, a kettle. In one of the bedrooms the curtains needed a way to be held back to let light in.
The beds were quite comfortable and the apartment was spacious. Good location. Nice and quiet. I've stayed in a lot noise places in NYC.

United States1. The room is not clean; I can see dust on the sofa. 2. The listing claimed that parking was available, but the owner lied about it. There is no designated parking space, and she pointed out a spot on the street where I received a parking ticket, resulting in a fine of over 100 dollars. 3. There is no lock that customers can use to secure the room from the inside. When I turn the handle, the door opens, and I have no idea if the room is locked from the outside. 4. The description of this place mentioned that it has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. However, one of the bathrooms is broken, and one of the rooms is filled with trash. 5. The building has three levels, and I can hear people talking from the floor above. 6. We were charged a significant amount for cleaning, but we were asked to take out the trash ourselves. 7. The owner lied to us. She claimed that since we couldn't check out by 11 am, we had to take the trash outside ourselves because she wouldn't be home. However, we discovered that she actually lived on the first floor.
the price is cheap.

AustraliaThe apartment we were placed in wasn't clean or renovated recently as we were told. It is too far from being luxury as it was advertised on www.booking.com. It also says 4 bedrooms, but it's 3 bedrooms with a little study room off the master bedroom with 1 single bed. The floor probably was the most terrible experience making a lot of noise when you step on it, good enough to wake everyone up. We were not comfortable at this place and the only thing I can thank the host was that we were allowed to bring in our luggage for storage before check-in therefore 5 of 10.
