The room smelled like dog and there were pieces of kibble on the floor. A barking dog in a nearby room woke us up. The hotel charged me tax and resort fee even though they were included in the Booking.com price.

The Saltgrass restaurant was great.

The room temperature could not be regulated. It was hot the entire time and the thermostat was set low. Very uncomfortable especially for sleeping. Also the beds are very outdated and uncomfortable as well. Shower seemed to have very good pressure either.

We have stayed at several of the Laughlin properties throughout the years. The Golden Nugget has kept up with the times, while most have shown decline. (Appearance,repair accommodations, etc.)

No regular breakfast option at 8 a.m. in the morning, which was a bit disappointing. Why is no coffee shop open at this time? The carpets in the room are old and needs urgent shampooing. The smell was obvious but of course if you stay long enough in the room the smell gets less noticeable.

The price/value of the property at this time of the year was good.

Low boy toilets, valet would not let us park in front to check in. We had to go into a full garage, find a spot and walk to hotel.

I didn't like that there was no place to eat after midnight. Even just a mini deli or someone selling hot food from a food truck in the middle of the night would be great. I hated having to go to the Aquarius to get food at midnight.

I liked the views. I haven't been since 1999, and it was a great casino to stay at. The vending machines for hotel guests took us for more money than gambling did! We didn't report it because I already did the first 2 times. Housekeeping was great, courteous and always making sure we had everything. The outdoor smoking area off of check-in was great to sit outside in, and barely felt any wind. I love that after decades since I've visited last that the Golden Nugget is still as comfy and friendly as it was 30 years ago.

We did reservations with Bring Fido online for a deluxe one bed room for family and dog named Muppet. When arrived for check in, receptionist stated “we can’t provide deluxe room, because you did not call to reserve with pet and deluxe room is not with pet”. We were very disappointed ☹️ and tired from 6+ hours of drive so we took the room given. Room hallway clean. Grass area for pets very dirty with lots of dog poop 💩. Walkway around facility not maintained with lots of weeds/trash and dog poop 💩. Worst part of stay…….late at night someone tried to push open patio door and to make thing worst the room was haunted! Several members and my self saw a dark shadow streaming across side of room 😳😱😬🫣!!!! We left the next morning!!! We would like to be refunded for out disappointed vacation stay!!!!!!!!

Room-was halfway clean with dust balls around bed frame. Bed-bedding and pillows had light stains and dusty.

The staff attitude from my understanding

I made reservations for my husband and his friend as a early Christmas present. The reservation was completely paid for and in my husband's name. But since he didn't have the card that I used to pay with they had to pay the full amount again.

The facilities are in need of updating and repair. The toilet did not rush, the faucet swiveled around 360 degrees. The decor needs updating.

The Staff were very nice and the room was reasonably clean. We like the Saltgrass restaurant. The Riverwalk is easily accessible.

There is no fitness center. The rooms need major updates! And the cleanliness was an issue. Our carpet (also gross to have carpeting in a hotel room) was not vacuumed. Disgusting! Also, the fridge still had food in it from a previous stay We informed the front desk and they promptly moved us, which was much appreciated. . Our tub in the new room didn't drain properly, so we had standing water while showering. Seems all rooms need updating.

Location is great. Love Saltgrass Steakhouse. The pool could be bigger, but the pool area is nice and has a great view.
