Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI didn't like that we weren't able to adjust the temperature of the room. You couldn't put it under 68° and even with it off, the room managed to hit 74. It was cold outside but it was way too hot at night. I don't know anybody who can comfortably sleep at 74. I also didn't like the bathroom or anything in it. The caulking in the tub was bad, the paint was chipping on the walls, the towels smelled like sour milk (with the prices we paid, I know they can afford some tide).
I liked the location of this place. You have great food, stores, and attractions within 3 mins. We had a 6 yr old with us and they didn't grow tired of walking because everything was nearby. I also liked how comfortable the bed and pillows were. I always have to bring my own pillow and bedding because I can't trust the quality of a hotels bed but these were great! I also appreciated that the wifi was strong even on the 46th floor. I find a lot of hotels have a hard time keeping stable wifi at that height. I also enjoyed the staff, everyone was pleasant and kind! Which is refreshing.

United StatesNo way to turn down or adjust heat. Had to open window. A few places where repairing would help. Some peeling in shower on molding. Frame around heating unit had large gaps. Booking.com refused to lower rate based on a match on their own site

CanadaA fridge in the room would have been nice. No room service or dining options yet, as they just reopened in November. The Times Square ‘view’ from our room wasn’t the greatest. We had our do not disturb card on the door, as we were on vacation and wanted to enjoy sleeping in, after long days of wandering around the city. Room service called two days in a row asking if we wanted room service… why bother having a do not disturb sign for guests to use, when you’re just going to disturb us anyways? The second time we told them the sign was there for a reason, and to not bother us… but we were checking out on the third day anyways. So not being able to enjoy uninterrupted sleep on vacation was frustrating, especially for the price we paid to go away.
The location is FANTASTIC. Central to Rockefeller, 5th Ave, Times Square, and 30 minute walk to Central Park. Staff were friendly.

United StatesHot water doesn’t work properly and heat is running constantly. We had to shut the unit off and literally open up one of the side windows to cool the room down. We told the staff and nothing was done to address it. It was like this for four days. I loved the location and was disappointed

United StatesRooms a little outdated w/furniture, our thermostat did not work, and no one came to look at it after calling and questioning it, but we were on the 20th floor and were able to leave the window open which helped cool the room. The cost for parking is a bit ridiculous per night and is a completely separate charge from hotel you pay when checking out. The view from our room was of the tops of surrounding buildings, given the price per night I was hoping for some sort of view of the surrounding city so disappointing on that, but we did not spend too much time in the room, so we dealt with it.
The location was great, the beds were very comfortable, very quiet on the floors given amount of people at the hotel. very spacious bathroom to get ready in. Will definitely consider staying here again, with a few modifications to transportation while there.

IrelandWhen we arrived off our long flight and travel the receptionists were a bit slow and all over the place. They sent us up to the wrong room. After lugging up all our suitcases and buggy dying to get in and chill out, we opened a door with a suitcase and stuff all over the room. Not a great mistake to make - we were lucky a naked man wasn't standing there!!! She was apologetic and embarrassed so we made a laugh about it with her and went up to our actual room. We'd mentioned multiple times we had a baby - the room didn't have a crib set up after asking a good few times for it and it didnt have a kettle so we couldn't make our baby formula when we got in. (Maybe the staff dont have children so didnt know) the phone didnt work when trying to call down and ask. My fiancé went down and asked and they eventually brought up both kettle and crib. The first night the phone rang a few times and because it didn't work, it was static on the other side. It was frustrating because we were all asleep including baby. The door knocked and it was a staff member with a suitcase bringing luggage to the wrong room, they mixed our name up with another family. Not great late at night but they made up for it the rest of our stay with being friendly and cleaning the room every day without fail.
The location, right on time square was amazing for us first time visitors to New York. Most people said we were crazy bringing our 4mth old and staying in times square but this was not an issue for us at all. We were close to the things we wanted to see and got the metro for the second part of the trip to get around. No matter whether we slept in late or got up and out early, the cleaner had our room spotless every day. This was essential when having a baby with us. She emptied the nappy bin etc. And she was super friendly every time! We loved the security man that looked after our bags and got us a taxi on the last day. Very friendly! The room size was 100square feet bigger than a room we had booked in Hilton Times Square West for 300dollars cheaper. This helped a lot with bringing an infant. The view out the window was good and we had a bath which was essential for us. Staff were very friendly to us throughout our stay despite a few mix ups.
