    Some drawbacks, but worthwhile.

    - Lack of a/c (didn't note that when I booked) and ventilation: Screen door for sliding glass door broken, had to mess with it often to keep it upright in the opening, and that door and then also the room's front door to the hall needed to be left open at end of day to cool the room down (no cross breeze without leaving the room door to hall open, too), but that door had no door stop or kickstand, so I had to jam something under the door to stop it closing. Fortunately, Donner's way up in elevation, so the lack of a/c wasn't critical, even on a hot day. Things cool off well at night, but this was a hassle to create the cross breeze, and this also creates a privacy/security issue while the hall door is open, which it needs to be for awhile to get the room cooled down. Being male and traveling alone, that didn't matter to me, but would probably be an issue for a single woman or a couple. Regardless, the doors to rooms without a/c should all have kickstands installed on their exterior sides in light of this situation and all screen doors need to be operational. - No 'Do Not Disturb/Housekeeping Requested' signs for door handle, and housekeeping knocked on my door at 8:30 on my checkout day. Way too early for someone on vacation. Might have been asleep still, or in shower, or other things were I not alone... Lodging 101: Venues need to have a way to indicate that a room's been vacated, not have maids just knock at whatever time.

    • Location above all, is GREAT. Right next to the lake, and the piers, lawn and mini-beach to access it, boat rental place right next to motel. Easy walk to public beach area (not needed, but a lively spot) and great pub nearby, and convenience store and a very popular ice cream shop across the road. • One of the better room prices in this expensive area (though still pricey).

The room is poorly soundproofed, and the air conditioner only has two options: on and off. It's so hot when it's on, and so cold when it's off.

    Location is the best
