Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing, it was all great.
I am a big fan of Marcel Breuer so I always wanted to stay here and it was worth it. Beautifully designed and such a cool and unique space.

United StatesThe location is very convenient to the highway and 5 minute drive from downtown but not really walkable to anything - except Ikea! I had an interior room which was very large but the window faced an air shaft and there was really no natural light. I’d pick a room facing the water next time.
Hotel Marcel is a stylish, mod, hotel with very friendly staff. Love that the old Marcel Breuer/Pirelli Tire building has been repurposed! It is an icon of brutalist architecture which the hotel celebrates and amplifies in the design throughout. And - it’s the first completely solar powered hotel in the country. Wow. The rooms are clean, quiet and well appointed. Yhr beds are comfy, the down pillows are perfect, and the lighting is really well done. The restaurant/bar downstairs has a great menu - if a little pricey, and the food the was delicious. I would definitely stay again

JapanTo be frank, the location is inconvenient. If you do not have a car, you'll need to use the (excellent) hotel shuttle. Appropriately, the shuttle is an EV making for a pleasantly quiet ride.
The staff were excellent. They took a lot of pride in their hotel and in their ability to help their guests. We felt welcome and cared for at the Hotel Marcel.

United StatesFood was boring! Staff were not very friendly. Eco friendly lighting was annoying, When turning on shower, water comes onto floor through door. Front desk couldn't tell me how many Hilton member points my stay was worth.
Shades and privacy sheers were great! Hotel was quiet. Linen and pillows were quality. Most important room was clean! Location was convenient. Hotel layout was user friendly. Parking was adequate.

United StatesThe room design was very nice, though a little small. We had drinks at the bar which were very good. The bartender was very helpful and nice. We also had breakfast in the morning and it was also very good. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. My wife also enjoyed shopping at IKEA.

United StatesBathroom is a little narrow, but that wasn't really a problem, just something I noticed. Really, I liked everything about this room. I would definitely stay here again and have already recomended it to friends.
Very attractive reuse of a former office building. Excellent rooms, very comfortable bed, very efficient and quiet HVAC unit. Strong wifi signal, charming lobby decor. Location is pretty good - it is an easy drive to the Yale campus and the hotel is close to the historic Italian neighborhood and the Mexican food truck lineup along Long Point Park.

United StatesN/A - loved everything
An architectural beauty - a converted brutalism office building into a hotel. Loved the windows where blue skies and clouds framed the view. If you can, get a room at end of the hallway (corner room) on top floor.

United StatesThe front desk staff during check in was friendly but there could be a little more information on how to work the elevators with the room key. Fortunately, another guest helped, or we would have been stuck in the elevator. Once we understood how it worked, it was easy. Using the room key for the elevator was an extra layer of security for the guests, which was appreciated.
The location was excellent as it was close to the Yale campus where my daughter is attending. The room overlooking the Wharf was beautiful. The beds were very comfortable and the room including the bathroom was extremely well maintained and clean.

CanadaThe staff in the restaurant were not friendly at breakfast, the tea was the worst tea I have ever had the displeasure of drinking in my life, and after one of the blackberries tasted like mold I could not bring myself to eat anymore. The room temperature only goes as low as 67°F, which is too warm for my liking when I sleep. Staff watched me struggle with the luggage cart that would not steer easily and offered no assistance.
The room was clean and modern. There is a touchpad as you enter the room that controls the blinds, lights, and temperate of the room. Small details are what count sometimes, and having a bottle of liquid hand soap in the bathroom was a nice touch.

United StatesThe location is close to the highway, but coming from downtown Nee Haven was a little trickier. I don’t like that Hiltons don’t just have free WiFi guests can access. When someone is traveling, whether for business or pleasure, they want easily accessible internet without having to go through a bunch of extra steps. We pay enough for the stay, Wi-fi should be free.
The rooms were very nice with high end amenities.
