How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Host was in contact with us in the beginning as we got settled, but when we tried to reach the host by phone or through booking.com for other questions nothing went through. The second drawback was that the neighbors on the first floor took so many showers there was no hot water for us on the second floor. We tried to reach the host to see if there was a solution, but we could not get through.

A very cute apartment in a quiet neighbourhood, great location, super clean & cozy, and well equipped. We had a wonderful long weekend here. The host, Lea, was very kind, friendly and ready for any help. The communication was also super easy. We really enjoyed our stay and the hiking around the Catskills.

We liked everything about our stay
Everything! 20 min drive from Hunter mountain. Beautiful location by the water. The apartment was nice, clean and felt like home. Nice bedrooms with very comfortable beds (our daughter said it was more comfortable than her bed at home). The owners are very nice and very accommodating, they even offered off fresh backed cookies! We'll probably stay here every time we visit Hunter mountain.

host responded quickly and was able to direct us on how to use the mini-splits. Some written directions in addition would be useful. Location was great for easy access to the hikes we wanted to do.

The only thing that people should be aware of are the stairs. There is a narrow and tall flight of stairs to gain access to the apartament. If you have any mobility issues please take note.
It was very clean and quiet neighborhood. Great place to base out of if you are visiting Catskill, Olana Historic Site, Thomas Cole Museum, Kaaterskill Falls, etc. The apartament has lots of amenities that I did not take advantage of such as s hammock, grill, outdoor patio etc. If you want a quiet place where you can hear a literal babbling brook 24/7 and veautiful bright start ar night then this is your site.

Perfect little apartment, exceptionally clean and hosts were very friendly and readily available when needed. Great location, quiet and near many attractions, walking trails, lakes and swimming holes. Definitely need a car to get around the area.

The apartment was so perfect. Each room was cozy and comfy. The kitchen was completely stocked with all that we needed. I absolutely loved the leather sofa seat around the kitchen table. It was like having a sofa in the kitchen :) The hosts couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating (and seriously, hot brownies delivered at your door?? can't beat that :) We loved the location too in the quiet countryside, near hiking trails as well as lovely towns such as Woodstock and Hudson not too far away. We even jumped into the stream across the street one evening after our hike!

We had a wonderful stay! The hosts were great, so nice to chat with, and they gave us lots of recommendations what to do, where to go and where to eat and all turned out to be fantastic experiences! Our kids loved to play with the stones at the river which is right in front of the house. Hikes in the mountains are just a few minutes by car.

This property was not as depicted online. Some pics shown must be a different property. It is shabby, tired and musty. Carpet is worn and apparently does not come clean. Linens not fresh, but musty smelling. We did not--could not--stay.
