Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWhat's not to like?
They were very friendly and accommodating to our requests. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower was accessible. Parking was easy. Great value for the money and excellent location.

United StatesWasn’t told there was no night clerk at Ruby so after my taxi dropped me off at Ruby I had to walk over to the Montvale to check in then back to Ruby to discover the gate was locked, back to Montvale to get their night clerk then back to Ruby - 4 trips back and forth between both hotels at midnight after a 25hr travel day. And their breakfast voucher doesn’t even cover your morning coffee. What a racket. Will never stay here again.

United StatesDog food on the carpet, so it wasn’t vacuumed. Night stand had something sticky on it, so it wasn’t cleaned. Stuff on the wall too. I am glad I brought lysol wipes. Gross! Sheets smelled funny. Bathroom exhaust fan was like a 747 airplane engine. Shower needed to be wiped down. Street noise was SUPER loud. Chair in room was falling apart. Parking was full so had to go to overflow lot and wasn’t easy to find. Why did I pay $175 to clean?! Disappointed.

United StatesThe toilet in our room was difficult to flush, but still worked. I stayed a few years ago before the remodel and missed the unique looks of the rooms from before.

CanadaReceptionist tried to charge my credit card $75 damage deposit before our arrival and my card was blocked. At the check out, she overcharged us claiming it’s $25.00 for parking when parking was advertised as $5.00. After inquiring about the amount he adjusted the amount and emailed me another invoice however the bank record still shows the overcharged amount.
The room was relatively clean but the rest of the place needs lots of work.

United StatesBig disappointment compared to Bonner's Ferry facility. This is some kind of renewed 1970 facility with parking under the rooms. Rooms are comfortable, but otherwise sparse, TV, wifi, refer. something like a coffee maker. Elevator serves south set of room, if on east side need to pull luggage up several steps. from elevator level. It worked for short overnight stay. Wouldn't want to spend much time here. Better hotels at near same cost are available.
Interior court parking if space available. Low noise from street. In downtown, if that is important. elevator, sort of,

United StatesThis is a somewhat strange facility in design and function. It seems it is a refurb of a 1950's type facility. The rooms are smallish and sparsely appointed. Did have wifi and TV, that was about it. Big disappointment compared to their facility in Bonners Ferry where I normally stay.
Rooms were adequate for an overnight stay. Parking was within the confines of the facility so not at risk from street parking. It is in the downtown section of Spokane and near the hospital and shopping. We did not explore as were on pass through trip. We did get a good discount on the room rate via Bookings.

United StatesI was unaware the parking lot gate would be locked at night & I was unable to park my rental car in the parking lot, after returning late from meeting with friends. Thankfully there was a spot near the lobby door...however I had to climb through the gate to be able to get to my hotel room. I wasn't given the code to the gate! It was a challenge in the morning to back my rental car out of the narrow driveway.
I chose Hotel Ruby for the location; downtown, off-street parking & close to where I wanted to eat & meet up with friends. I lived in Spokane for many years; I knew about the hotel from being a Spokane resident.

United StatesThe listing advertised free parking, we had to pay for parking- we had to park in a lot away from the hotel, and in a sketchy public lot, used for their overflow that they couldn’t accommodate in their own lot that they locked behind a gate. Had we been able to park inside this lot the checking in and out was very inconvenient, as there was no person to manage a service desk. The railings on the 2nd story would never have met codes, they were so low, and the bathroom was so tight and small the counter ran over the top of the toilet, where the hairdryer hung precariously, and could have electrocuted someone if it got knocked off its shelf into the toilet. It was clean though, older but clean, over priced, for cheap furnishings, tiny room, and no amenities that you would expect to pay for $180

CanadaWe have been staying here for years due to the location. The sapphire Lounge downstairs is also lovely I just wish it was open on Sundays like it used to be. The staff at the front desk and the cleaning staff are friendly and great and eager to help. Some of the rooms are small but you can see that in the description and pick what you want. We picked the small ones if we're not going to be in there very much.
