As above, the construction noise was atrocious. You couldn't be in your room at all for the entire day, and it also started earlier than they said. I honestly don't think they should be renting rooms out, at least not at that price, while this is going on. The dorm bed (in a 10 person dorm) cost me $100 per night, which is absolutely insane given none of the facilities were available (no common areas at all) and there was constant noise to the point you couldn't use the room except to sleep. That's the most I've ever paid for a dorm bed in my life, and I have stayed in a lot of dorms. Would also suggest some lockers in the dorms - there was nowhere to put valuables or even anywhere to store bags, which was unusual.

I feel so conflicted about this review! On the one hand the dorm was good - curtains on the beds, plugs, fans and lights by the beds, nice height between lower and upper bunk so you can sit up properly. Location was good and staff were lovely. Very clean. Even little toiletries in the bathroom, which is unusual for a hostel. However, this was all overshadowed by the construction noise. I hadn't realised this was happening when I booked, and later saw that it was going to be from 9-5 everyday. It wasn't, it was 8-5, and it wasn't just a bit of hammering and sawing, it was jackhammers drilling up concrete alllll day. This also meant there was no kitchen, which I also hadn't realised when booking. I would have been happier with the stay if the price was at least half of what it was and there was more notice about the construction, and that they actually stuck to the times they were meant to be working.

A Spartan hostel. No food, coffee, tea, or cabinets to store some. One small (1.5 cubic foot) for ten beds. No kitchen. No microwave. No sitting or dining rooms. Very small bedrooms.

There was a major Fire Safety issue. As a result of the ongoing construction the rear door was nailed shut. Thus, the second means of egress, which is required, was closed. Worse, renters were not notified.

The allocated room is very close to the front desk. I can clearly hear the conversations when someone checks in at night, which somewhat disturbs my sleep.

The room is clean and tidy. The staff are very friendly, and the location is also quite excellent.

Didn't know the courtyard was under construction but not an issue we only slept there and no active construction was taking place on the night we stayed. Originally we were going to stay in the hostel portion but we upgraded to a private room so we could of course have more privacy. We are over 50 and bunk beds was not a wise choice. No problem for young people. But it is the fact that we like to talk when we get to our room and how do you do that if your in a room with strangers trying to sleep. This is no a fault of the hostel section, if you like that go for it. Lucky for us room 7 was available.

We stayed in room 7 which was very nice. The courtyard outside of the room is under construction, they said a pool is being added so that will be wonderful for the future. Beds were comfortable. Windows need screens. Blinds need replacing. The rest of the room looked pretty new. Bathroom was clean and pretty tiles. Would stay in this location again.

Quite expensive for what you get. Such a motel anywhere else would cost under $200 but here it was almost double due to the overall prices at key west.

The motel is located very centrally, a walking distance to duvel street but in a more quiet area. Rooms were cozy and clean and the bathroom refurbished.

Location is quite good, bunk bed was comfortable, there was no space for suitcases nor any elements to help arrange stuff: no hangers, closets, shelfs, platforms, etc.

Outdoor space & noise. We were looking forward to using the outdoor space to sit with a drink but hadn't been told that the motel was undergoing major refurbishment - the whole outdoor area was completely dug up and unusable. This also meant that there was construction noise starting fairly early on the weekday mornings. The noise from outside the room was pretty loud, could hear whole conversations of other guests outside the room. Not the motel's fault but the cockerels are very loud from around 4am! We were woken up each morning, even through ear plugs.

The room itself was very nice: large comfortable bed and nice, spacious bathroom with good shower (although it look a very long time to get hot water out of it). On check in the staff member we spoke with was very friendly. Good location a little walk away from the noise and hubbub of Duval St.

Lack of iron in room. There was kitchen in room but unfortunately there was no plates, mugs or forks, spoons so the kitchen wasn't useful. There is a common kitchen but even there was only one plate, one knife and that's it.

Only sheets, no comforter or blanket. Curtains around bed sucked. They should sew them sideways and put them on the wire or have more since they don't cover the bed.

Bed was comfy, outlet, USB port, and light in each bed was nice. AC worked great. Good location.
