Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI had booked an extra night to allow for early check in and messaged the hotel when I made the booking to let them know but they still put me down as a 'no show' and it took ages to get my room when I checked in. The breakfast room is complete chaos, not enough tables for all the guests so people were sitting all over the lounge, business centre etc and the breakfast buffet was a complete mess. The location in NOT Times Square.... 36 and 8th Ave.
The room is spacious and clean, bed comfortable and amenities in the room are all good. The staff were friendly and helpful.

United Statescommon and lobby areas often very crowded with people sitting around eating while waiting with luggage. During cocktail hour, vegetable trays and other food trays were displayed and did not have serving utensils, I watched guest use their fingers to serve themselves, in today’s health and cleanliness environment this was totally unacceptable

FranceWhat disappointed us was the variety of options offered for breakfast, for example there is no bread. But the exceptional service of the entire breakfast team and especially Tirza and Chaimae was excellent.
What really stood out for us was the service of the reception staff and especially the breakfast service. Special mention for Tirza and Chaimae who were exceptionally kind and of a remarkable service. When we arrived our room had some light and air-conditioning malfunctions and they changed our room immediately. The location is very good close to time square and the metro. The area is secure and we felt safe.

United KingdomThe lifts were a little bit congested but not overly and thankfully we weren’t too high up and could take the stairs down in the morning. Breakfast could also be quite busy and although we always got a table it did feel a little like you were fighting for one. The hotel are also completely unresponsive over message via Booking.com.
Really friendly staff. The room was cosy and had everything we needed including a microwave, TV an iron and ironing board.

United StatesBreakfast, which I think could of been better , I had much better breakfast from Marriott, the mattress was hard, I experienced back and neck pain, again I had much better experience from Marriott before which I enjoyed, and last the refrigerator in my room was very noisy. Sorry, next time I would stay at Marriott and not a Sub.
The room was cozy and clean, and I was able to adjust the thermostat..

BelgiumI didn't really like the neighbourhood, there were too many homeless people in the street but I never felt unsafe. The breakfast was ok-ish and the coffee the best I had in NYC but the fact that the plates, cups and flatware are disposable didn't gain them bonus points.
The room was small but had all one would need for a city trip. The bed was comfortable, smart tv, good internet connection. The walk in shower had good pressure and the hotel provided their guest with body wash, shampoo and even hair conditioner. Rooms are modern, fresh and very clean. The hotel is centrally located and just 2 blocks away from the subway station and within waling distance to Times Square. The staff was absolutely lovely and very helpful.

SwedenToo few elevators - often long waiting for a car especially in mornings. Breakfast was plenty, but no cheese, no ham only butter and jam for the bread. Fruits not ripe. But otherwise fine with scramled eggs and bacon/meat, English muffins, pastery and waffles. And all those disposable items creating tons of waste - just terrible. A shame!
Convinient location if you arrive through Penn Station = 6 minutes walk. And only 10 minutes walk to Empire State Building. Most friendly and helpful staff. Considering it is New York reasonably priced, not saying it is cheap. Rooms small as you you can expect, but clean and even a sofa. Bathroom with facilities very good.

United KingdomBreakfast can get busy and seating is in short supply. The wait for lifts can be long but we were on the lower floors so stairs were often a faster option.
