Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ArgentinaThe front desk clerk at check-in was rude and unprofessional. He mishandled my credit cards, ignoring the one I provided and instead charging the card on file without my consent. Completely unacceptable!
Breakfast was decent—nothing special, just what you’d typically have at home.

SpainWhen you first enter, it’s a bit shocking because it looks like an old and poorly maintained hotel, from the reception to the rest of the facilities (elevator, luggage storage room, etc.). However, once you get to the room, things improve. What stands out is the lack of duvets on the beds, the noise from outside (both from people and music) and the rather poor breakfast. Simply adding some eggs and bacon or waffles/pancakes would have been enough.
The room was very clean and well-maintained. The attention from the receptionists and the overall service was excellent.

United StatesThe breakfast was as advertised, bagels, toast, dry cereal, juice and coffee, some fruit. The toaster took a while and didn't toast the bagels. Would have been nice to have waffles.
We were concerned when the Uber dropped us off. The outside of the hotel and even the lobby looked run down. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. They stored our luggage in a locked storage area and told us where to eat and how to get there. The room was small but very clean and the bathroom was very nice sized.

South KoreaHad a short stay of one night, so accessibility from BART station was the top priority. Good location with lots of bus/tram/train stations nearby. Friendly staff, acceptable breakfast quality(which was over my expectation for a continental breakfast by 2 star inn). It may not be the place for honeymoon, but if you are looking for good value for money it will not let you down.

CanadaThe constant loud drumming from a nearby protest at the Hilton hotel was extremely disruptive and went on almost 24/7 throughout the stay. It made it difficult to relax and get a comfortable night's sleep. The area does have some homeless population, which is typical for downtown locations.
The room was clean, well-maintained, and had all the advertised amenities. The location is in downtown, which has convenient access to many restaurants nearby.

United Statesyou should be careful especially at nights. so many homeless people :( Apart from that, it is very close to center, park and etc. you can reach to the touristic places by walking.
customer service was good enough. The receptionists were smiley and helpful. We felt safe when we were there. they also helped us with our luggages keeping them after we checked out. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a place for a reasonable price.

GermanyAs my stay consisted of two bookings - I had subsequently extended my stay - I had to change rooms in the meantime. To do this, I had to check out of the old room in the morning, check back in in the afternoon and leave the hotel in the meantime - this could perhaps have been handled more elegantly. The bed in the first room was definitely too short, very uncomfortable. The rooms were generally very small. The hotel can only do so much about the fact that the loud noise of striking Hilton employees could be heard outside (every day until around midnight and from around 6 a.m. in the morning).
The location was fine, not far from public transport (including the cable car). There was a small breakfast. The reception was friendly but distant.

CanadaWe were booked for 5 nights and placed into a suite at the front of the building. Every night craziness happened. Trucks. Breaking glass. Loud music. Fire trucks. Cops. Barking dogs. People screaming. Also the past 4 weeks the staff at the Hilton down the street were out on strike. Bull horns. Music. Chanting. Drum pounding. I support these people but why put us in a suite where we can’t sleep? I have never in my 60 years of life stayed in a hotel where I can’t sleep.
The suite was very clean and updated. Shower was big and comfortable.

United StatesThe location was good... BY DAY. It was very sketchy at night, with hundreds (not exaggerating, hundreds) of homeless people and people who clearly were not okay. I would NOT recommend it for a solo trip. The room was tiny and missing surfaces (only one nightstand, barely any space to place the suitcase on the floor).
Staff was very nice. The bed was very comfortable. It is central in San Francisco, but the area is scary at night. Breakfast was ok, nothing remarkable but enough (coffee, tea, yogurt, fruit, bagels, cereal, and toast).
