Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe bathroom door kept sticking and was difficult to shut. We could hear the neighbors slamming doors, but it really wasn't a deal breaker.
Great location in Center City/Philadelphia. Near the university where we had a tour scheduled. So many things within walking distance. The room was a good size and came with a mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Bathroom was nice and spacious as well. The mobile key and online check-in was very convenient. Beds were okay — a little stiff, but it worked for two nights. Having luggage lockers in the lounge was fantastic and worked out for us on our day of departure. No frills, but truly works great if you're just looking for a place to crash at night.

United StatesBoth bathroom sinks were extremely clogged when we arrived at the property. Once we reported it, one sink was fixed the next day and the other sink the day after. However, we expected this to have been addressed before our arrival. Also, the the hand towel in one of the bathrooms was really dirty and clearly wasn't changed after the previous guests.
The unit was spacious and conveniently located in Philly. The staff were very responsive via email.

United StatesBoth bathroom sinks were slow to drain, but not a big deal. The coffee could be better. Also, not a huge fan of Chromecast TV.
This king suite was great. We loved the spaciousness of our room, having two bathrooms, and the location in Center City. It was mostly quiet, except for some Saturday night traffic and revelry!

United StatesI wished that there was regular local TV channels as I love listening to news in the background, and I like to have nonsense TV running all night while I sleep which would've helped with the street noise. I don't stream much from my phone, so that was a bit of a let down. And the shower stall was very small and I'm not a big person, but I do understand the space limitations when older buildings are converted into modern accommodations.
I did not know there was breakfast??? :( I loved the room. It had a great vibe and the bed was more comfortable than my bed at home.

United KingdomMissed regular hotel facilities like left luggage. Difficult to use the TV as the remote control seemed to be mismatched. Had to make sure my phone didn't run out of power as I needed it to get in

ItalyThe location was in the city center - 10 minutes walking from Rotterhouse Square. Though, Locust street is not that safe - especially at night. We found as many as 10 homeless and drug addicted all around the street - every time we went for a walk.
the property is curated and renewed, clean and aesthetically pleasing - extra plus for the soaps, which were very sophisticated. the facilities worked well (luggage storage - customer care…)

United StatesThe constant humming noise at night. I think it was the central air, but I'm not too sure, I also didn't like a deposit taken from my account without notice.
I loved the windows, and the bathroom was large. The shower could use a updating/along with the windows in the bathroom. Overall, we had everything we needed. The room didn't have cable, but we were informed of this.

CanadaThe keyless entry was problematic and had to spend 40+ minutes on the phone- and three different phone calls to resolve the issue. Someone else said they had similar issues. Make sure your codes have all been sent to you before arrival. The room was lovely but the windows dont open- at the same time- there was A LOT of noise from the streets so if youre disturbed by this kind of thing- you might want another hotel. There is no kettle, and the coffee machine was...moody. Also- the shower was really dirty- with black mold all around the door frame of the shower. yikes! I would stay here again- I'd just bring a spray cleaner with me ;>
The area has lots of restaurants/ bars/ cafes- its in a very lively part of the city. The "cozy" room was a very big room, lots of sun, big bathroom. There are parking lots allllll around and even one directly across the street- so you wont struggle to park your car.
