How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

See above. Living/dining room of suite took NO advantage of the great view. The dining table was tucked into an odd corner and barely usable. Also, table should be cleaned underneath. The refrigerator was tiny and unusable for anything but the minibar (not convenient for a week long stay). Staff did send up a larger refrigerator (which was nice) but it was old and an eyesore.
Staff was a pleasure. Suite was nice. Bathroom-excellent, bedroom-very good, living/dining room-fair. View from bedroom & bathroom was great. Window and eating area in other room of suite seemed an afterthought. Room service was solid but uninspired. Dinner at Bazaar was lovely. Location was great.

Everything was perfect.
Professionalism, spot-on service and graciousness of staff (particularly Matthew: front desk reception and Joy A: guest relations manager). My wife and I received warm greeting upon arrival (Matthew) and our upgraded room (thanks Joy) was perfectly appointed and the view: magnificent. Enjoyed Nobeluz and Zaytinya (breakfast and dinner).

Room was a little small at the price
Wonderful hotel with excellent views of the city from the King High Floor suite. Very modern and new. Amazing service and definitely leagues ahead of the Ritz Central Park. Rooftop bar is exceptional with incredible views.

Quite bland room with generic feel to it. Furniture and technology choices very similar to 300 usd a night hotels in the Nordics.
Excellent bed. The Club facilities, service and food. Fantastic staff. Spacious bathroom, excellent shower, wonderful towels and robe.

The rooms made some noise which need to be addressed.
Location was fabulous, staff was very very friendly and cooperative. Food was great. Free coffee in the lobby was a good touch. I really enjoyed myself.

The street on which entrance is located Is not nice Some of the staff were still new and needed some training Bar area opens late at 4 pm The restaurant area was a bit cold and not inviting though seemed popular Would be nice to have a pool
the hotel contributed with a beautiful public space on the street and as soon as you enter you are transported into a private beautiful space Julie at reception was excellent Design of the hotel and rooms especially bathrooms was sophisticated with simple and relaxing lines Very comfortable space with a lot of natural light Stayed for eight nights and had an excellent stay and felt very much at home

Excellent Hotel. Doormen looked after me really well. So important as a solo female traveller in NYC. All staff happy. Helpful and full of knowledge. Location is midtown so 15 mins from Public library.

Cleanliness - a bathrobe full of the previous guest's black hair. Staff - noone will open the front door for you, receptionists - just polite but that's all. They charged me for 1000$ more and ask to explain myself this issue with Booking.com because it is not their problem. No swimming pool. Sauna seperate for woman and men so You can't spend time together. Breakfast not tasty. I was in Aman two days earlier. This was an absolute top. Ritz Carlton - never again.
View. It was the only thing that didn't disappoint. If view is important for You and You are ready to pay a lot - be prepared that rest of hotel is 7/10 and 4 stars.
