Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe shared kitchen was large and well stocked It wasn't made very clear that this is a shared apartment. We shared a wall/door in the bedroom with the laundry so could hear staff coming in and out and the dryer going till around 10pm. A light was also left on all night which you could see in our bedroom. Handy location to Seward main street

United StatesThe Vue is a nice place to stay. One exception, We were in the "west room" which has a bedroom above it. The two nights we were there, people were jumping around all hours of the night and kids running on the upstairs floors - so the place needs sound-proofing!

Location was great, we went out for breakfast. The only thing. You might think about rugs. You could hear every noise when people walked or talked.

United StatesThe only thing we found difficult was sleeping. The bed in the west room was very hard/firm so we found ourselves tossing and turning a lot. I think it would help to add black out curtains to the room as well. The shades were good but light still slipped in on the sides and kept the room quite bright when we were trying to sleep.
The kitchen was well stocked and clean so we could cook there! We loved the little seating area outside for morning coffee. Our unit felt spacious and it was nice to have a private living room area with a TV.

United StatesThe West Room where I stayed is right next to the kitchen, so it was noisy in the morning. It's also on the first floor, so if there's someone above you, it's a bit noisy. The side tables next to the bed are very small. I had a CPAP machine that could barely fit on the side table so I put it on the floor to prevent it from falling off that tiny table.
The Vue is a great location for the Sea Life Center and downtown restaurants, shops and bars. My room was very clean and had a comfortable bed, living room area and work desk. Right across the street from Resurrect Art Coffee House - a charming coffee shop with great coffee and fresh baked goods!

United StatesWe were there on a week-end, staff was a little thin but available when called. We had a couple problems with T.V. reception, but figured it out. There was road construction going on right in front of our room, unfortunate timing for us. Parking situation less than ideal. The "beautiful view" was from a distance across town, not exactly water-front view.
Self-service breakfast. Huge communal kitchen, well stocked with utensils, coffee, milk, cereal, condiments. Beautiful building, very tastefully decorated. Easy walking distance to downtown stores and Aquarium. Laundromat next door.

United StatesStayed in lower unit and could hear every movement upstairs. A bit confusing on how to access the unit and where to store the luggage. I would not recommend if you have large bags and your plan is to catch a coach bus back to anchorage. You are better served by staying at a facility where the bus picks you up. Ubers are not reliable in the area.
Updated and clean. Comfortable bedding. Modern facility.

United KingdomCommunication was very poor.We messaged a lot to get help with the TV. Even asked someone to visit. We did not see management or anyone els for that matte once. Not sure if cleaner meant to come in. It was very difficult to carry large suitcases across the grass area to storage. That area to go was not communicated to us very well either.Texts on all occasions cost 1 dollar a time. Sofa was dreadful to sit on for longer than half an hour.No other seats.Lighting poor to read when no TV available.Had to sit on bed.Lounge light gave out nothing and you wouldn't know it was on unless you looked up. Other guests using kitchen after 9pm.Signage needs to be better. One couple had friends visit and had a ton of food to cook.We were in bed. They were loud.Who would we report to?? No storage for more than one night. We had to move furniture around to place clothes on.Suitcases had to be piled up by main door.No room under bed or in bedroom.Did not have any hanging clothes for the very wide wardrobe. All our clothes were folded type.Maybe a set of drawers in wardrobe.
Bed very comfortable.Great kitchen and easy access. Many good appliances.Clean. Fresh fruit, pastries and juice everyday.Loaded fridge and cupboards helpful. Amenities in bathroom and bathroom generally very good.Temperature was good in rooms. Plenty of towels.. View. Great location.Being so near free shuttle was a great advantage.lso restaurants and shops. Fridge in room.Access to instant ice. Dishwasher which we used daily.

United StatesFamily above us had kids and the running back and forth, jumping, etc definitely traveled thru the floor. Still it wasn’t a big deal as it was early evening - late morning and kids will be kids!
While most hotels in AK seemed a “little” worn out, The Vue was neat, clean, roomy and very centrally located. We loved the idea of a shared kitchen. Checkin was super easy and the room was spic and span! We would most definitely stay here again.

FranceStayed 2 nights. The first morning there were nice breakfast pastries, but not the second morning. Plenty of options for breakfast but missed the pastries.
Very comfortable for the two of us. The shared kitchen was fine but it did get a little cramped in the morning when another party was also trying to fix breakfast. They didn’t realize it was a shared space. The large windows gave us a nice view looking out to mountains. Location very handy to downtown Seward and kayaking office, just across the street, which was super handy for the day we booked kayaking.
