The highway construction currently going on could be felt from the room, which is obviously no fault of the hotel's, and the room was mostly clean but could've been freshened up with a sweep of the hardwood floors

The room was comfortable, and the staff were very accommodating with my night shift work schedule.

You are very close to the highway, so it is quite noisy - but that is really not a factor. I think cleanliness is next to godliness and you scored big there.

I liked the fact I could smell bleach on the bedding - nothing says clean like bleach. My sister(who is on crutches) loved the walk in shower. She struggles with the bathtub type showers. The decor was bright and fun. This was probably one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. The price was just right too. My sister asked me to add- please think about locating a TRU in New Ulm, MN. She visits there often due to kids in college. The offerings there are horrible.

The best part was that everything was so clean! The bed was comfy, the breakfast was great, and the staff were kind! Definitely will stay here again when in this area.

No microwave in the room was a bummer, especially traveling with small kids who are picky about foods.

I liked everything, from the person checking us in, to the design of the hotel. I liked the colors. The breakfast was exceptional. I liked the modern look and fee.

It got dark too early to stroll down to the shore

Nice quiet view of the woods, never heard the highway though it was right there. Good amenities including a compact but adequate fitness centre.

I would like to let you know about the wonderfully kind person at the registration desk on Thursday night. He needs a raise-he was thoughtful and considerate of our situation (family member passed away). I’d say he was the BEST of this property

I had asked for a late checkout of 2:00 pm and was told that would be fine. Normal checkout was noon. At 1145 housekeeping was literally beating on our door. I went to the door and told her we had a late checkout. Then 5 minutes later she was knocking loudly on the door again. Again I told her we had a late checkout. My boyfriend was sleeping due to being a night shift worker and she awakened him with her knocks.

With a family of 4, having a sink outside the bathroom would be helpful. The shower has a clear glass door, so can't wash up or brush teeth while someone is showering.

Love the vibe. Our family enjoys the swimming pool and pool table. I used the fitness center which has versatile equipment including TRX, kettle bells, bands and fitness programs on a wall mounted device. Delicious breakfast with a lot of variety. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I'm not in favor of the Ace Hotel vibe no closets. Very limited hanging space. We had a lot of clothes for a long wedding weekend.

The woman who sets up the breakfast is very happy, friendly and dedicated to her job. Big winner! Large lobby. Elevators worked great.

This Tru by Hilton is excellent and was a one night stop because it was 8 pm and I didn't want to deal with Chicago/Gary traffic at night. Very nice stay. Clean rooms and friendly staff.

The only thing that could have been better was that the bed could have been more comfortable, but we are spoiled because we have a very comfortable bed at home. We honestly liked everything about our stay.

The breakfast exceeded our expectations and the water bottle refill station was a very nice touch as well. We liked that the air conditioning worked very well and it kept us comfortable the entire stay. We loved the shampoo/condition/body wash that was provided, it smelled amazing!

Maybe a few q-tips, a safe would be nice but not much of anything else.

Overall I was pleasantly surprise how much I liked staying here. Breakfast was excellent. The room was not big but well planned, with large bathroom and glasses in shower instead of a slippery tub. All the shampoo, conditioner, body soap were in super size dispensers and great quality. Bed and pillows were clean and comfy. Will look for Tru again next time we travel.
