Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBreakfast not included. Bathrooms poorly ventilated and get very wet even from a quick shower. Housekeeping intermittent. Hidden fees applied in addition to price given when booking.
Great location near Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor Village. You can walk/bike rather than constantly driving and parking. Decently clean.

United StatesDO NOT STAY HERE. There are a million other hotels/inns/b&bs in Bar Harbor and any one of them has to be better than Wonder View Inn. The rooms are small and walls are paper thin. Woke up to our neighbors having sex at 2:45am but you can also hear simple, normal conversation between people (so don’t say anything you don’t want heard by the strangers on both sides). The beds are incredibly uncomfortable. The bathroom is literally falling apart. The toilet was installed crooked. The entire faucet shifts when you turn it on because it was detached from the sink. The metals in the shower and light are all rusting because there is no fan in the bathroom. You would think the cracked bathroom window would help it air out some but to no avail. And don’t bother complaining. I get the feeling they hear it regularly and have absolutely no concern for it. They did at least send someone to gather the bags of trash collecting in the corner near our door. The literal only semi-redeeming factor is that their cleaning staff are relatively competent. If you’re torn of where to stay, I hope I can save you a restless sleep!

United StatesWonderview. I wondered where the view was. (it was obscured by trees) The deck was not in great shape either. Splintery wood and the view from the deck was a nearby treeline and trash on the ground. The biggest problem was the mustiness of the room. We both woke up congested each morning and had a hard time breathing until we left the room for a few hours.
Location was good, plenty of parking.

United StatesWe stayed in room 30. The rooms are pretty dated. This room smelled very musty. The carpet should definitely be replaced with flooring. The bathroom didn't smell musty probably because it was tiled. Also recommended a shelf to set some toiletries on. Very disappointed with the housekeeping system. We stayed 4 nights and notified the desk the 2nd day about getting the trash picked up and towels. Towels were dropped off that evening. 3rd day no housekeeping, called desk they said they were short-handed and needed to clean the rooms for turn-over. We left our trash cans outside the door to eventually get emptied.
Location was convenient to downtown and Acadia National Park. Downtown is not really walking distance. Use directions to the Bluenose Inn, that is where you will check in. The outdoor fireplace at the looking glass restaurant was very nice. You just call the desk and they will send someone up to light it. The restaurant only serves breakfast and is closed on Tuesday., it is a good breakfast and beautiful view.

United StatesThe unit is TOO SMALL. There is hardly any room inside, especially the bathroom. It’s old and dated. Walked a few hundred yards to get coffee. It’s DEFINITELY overpriced for what they deliver.
The location to where the Acadia National Park’s Carriage Roads are is great - 5 minutes away! Also close to Cadillac Road.

United StatesWalls were a little thin. Not crazy bad, but if there was one thing I’d change it’d be that.
It was close to town but not IN town. Bar Harbor was a little chaotic, even in the semi-offseason, so it was nice to be removed but near.

United StatesWV Inn rooms could be updated and maybe a new paint job but really it had everything we needed. the water did drip in the shower and we had to shut the door so we didn't have to listen to it all night. Wi fi was sketchy at first but then we got the hang of it.
Staying at WVInn we had access to the Blue Nose facilities like spa, etc though didn't use. We did hang out in the lobby/great room at BN to hear the live piano music (awesome)and enjoy the coffee and tea. We also made use of the laundry facility. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Great location to walk into town.

United KingdomWhile on a surface check the room appeared clean, the closer you looked, the less clean it was. It wasn't super dirty but was far from spotless. I found several hairs and a dead bug in the sheets. There was an abandoned spider web by the bed and dust bunnies in the corners. While empty and wiped clean, the mini fridge leaked on one of the items we put in it. Compounded with the fact that the bed wasn't very comfortable, I didn't feel as relaxed in the room as I would have liked.
Absolutely fantastic location! This is perfect if you want to split your time between Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Because it is such a large property, the clear signage for where to check in was greatly appreciated. In the room, it was great to be able to control our own heating/cooling; the unit was quite responsive. The en-suite bathroom was spotless and the water pressure was great. My friend and I both loved the little balcony attached to our room as well.
