Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaA mat in the bathroom would be useful to stop the floor getting all wet. I felt bad tracking wet sandy footprints through the house, even after just going to the toilet.
The staff are very friendly and patient with my bad Spanish! It had a very homely vibe, especially with the pets. Merlin the cat was my favourite!

SwedenOnly thing that would have been great is some sort of mosquito net (cause the little bastards are everywhere).
Superb location! Had the private room "Gaia" and it was super. Also, like other people have been writing, the breakfast was simple but sooo tasty. Very friendly people running the establishment as well :)

FinlandI knew the standard when I booked it and its ok for a couple of nights but good to know for others: there were no soap in the bathroom and the toilets are not flushable (you just poor water in the toilet), which can make the bathroom feel a bit gross.
The host was nice and the beds were clean. Breakfast simple but nice.

ItalyThe place has just a small heater in the common space and no heating at all in the rooms. So, if you are there during winter, keep in mind that it can get really cold!
The lady working there is friendly and a great cook! We had a nice breakfast in the morning with homemade bread.

GermanyReally just some small things, we were missing some kind of chill area, like a hammock. The interior was more on the basic side, which did not bother us drastically. Overall, nothing which would stop us from booking again.
We loved the general vibe of the hostel. The owners of the hostel were really kind and courteous. Especially their breakfast with homemade bread and orange jam was delicious. We also loved the location, near to the supermarket and bus station but also close to the beaches. Overall a great experience. Would book it again any time!

FranceWhen other people are also staying there, it can transform into your worst dorm experience since there is no real wall between the rooms. We had people next to us having sX at night and talking loudly at 6am in the morning. Not the fault of the owners, but for example there could be a sign telling people to respect each other's sleep after a certain time.
Very nice hostel in the middle of amazing Cabo Polonio. From the hostel you can easily reach any point in the town, and enjoy it fully. Edith and Lucio are very cool people and Edith's kitchen is a delight. We can only recommend.

UruguayThe staff is not nice, and everything you could do in a common hostel is forbidden. We couldn't use the kitchen for cooking, and everything we asked for was hard to get. The second day there was no hot water, and the staff was blaming other users for that. We stayed in a private bedroom, but privacy was not one the features we get, imagine we could not sleep because of the snoring in the next room. Besides, the bedrooms are upstairs, and the hostel has a restaurant open all day long, whose kitchen (without forced ventilation) is under the bedrooms; all our clothes smell like fried potatoes now. Will not come back, never.
The place is nice at first sight and has a great location.

BrazilWe knew we were going to a remote place with little infrastructure, but staying in at the Bunker was something else. All property semt improvised and insecure. We stayed in a room above the kitchen, you could hear and even see the staff working through the breaches (not small ones) on the floor. The bed was extremely unconfortable, even for 1 night. And the bathrooms… let’s say we were glad we stayed in for just one night.
The friendly staff

NetherlandsIn our three months of travelling, this was one of the least hygienic places we've stayed in. Mold in the pillows, humid smell, old liquor bottles that were half full, mosquitos and flies in the bathroom, etc. However, this could be the standard in Cabo Polonio according to the experiences of some other people we spoke to... The breakfast was also very minimal.
Great location in the middle of the village and close to the beach. Friendly host. The cabin has the potential of being very nice if maintained properly.

United KingdomI have no complaints, everything was exactly as described.
Great simple accommodation in Cabo Polonio. The owner, Edith, is such a nice person who welcomes you into her home. Breakfast is delicious with homemade bread and jam. Good coffee too. I also ordered lunch and dinner which were so good (I had fish milanesa and miniaturas de pescado)! I've not had such good home cooking for a while on my trip so it was a treat.

GermanyThis is no critique and rather advise for people to realise that Cabo Polonio is a remote place where electricity depends on the sun and hot water is not available. It brings you down to earth and will be an amazing experience but be prepared. <3
Bunker Hostel is a wonderful place, very quiet and Lucio is an extremely helpful and charming host. Thank you for everything!

BrazilThe beach has a lot of seals that are either dead or dying from a possible fever. Its worth mentioning that you shouldnt touch them and you should cover your feet around them as well.

GermanyThe rooms were very basic, which is ok, but the bed had uneven wooden bars in it, so I couldn't sleep, whenever I turned, I banged my hips. Under our Windows was just an open watercollector for rainwater. But as it wasn't properly closed it was a breading place for moskitos, who just came in through the open roof, no matter what and nowhere to even hang a moskito net. For me they had a cat and several dogs downstairs, while I'm allergic to cats and as the hostel had a Restaurant, we couldn't use the kitchen at all, they helped with breakfast with hot water and heating Milk, but burning anything that was cooked in the kitchen and could be smelled all over in the house.
Lucio and Evita were very helpful and nice. The location is great, just off the main square and 100m from where the trucks drop you off.
