Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Nice hostel in a quieter area of Hoi An. Our dorm had 2 bathrooms which was great. Staff are really friendly and helpful also :)

It's very well located, great breakfast, gentle staff. In front of the hostel, there's a cheap landry and bike to rent

I extended my stay and also changed to a private room. It is a really good hostel. The location is good because you are close to the old town on a quiet street. I was working during my time there, and the internet worked really well. The staff is friendly, helpful, and nice. I'm glad that you have your key back! :)

I had a great stay at Dom Hostel & Bar! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always happy to help with anything. It was super easy to arrange laundry, rent a bike, or book a transfer, which made my stay really convenient. The location is also a big plus—just a short walk from the city center, making it easy to explore. The bar adds a nice social vibe, perfect for meeting other travelers. Overall, a great place to stay if you’re looking for a comfortable and hassle-free experience!

Barrier on top bunk was very small.
Good breakfast. Very warm, helpful and friendly staff! Good central and quiet location. Comfortable beds, good lockers and Aircon/ fans. Never ran out of toilet paper! Personal light and plug socket in bed.

The curtains are only for a bit of privacy, the top bunks receive all the light.

The place is located 5-10 minutes walking from the main village. The staff was incredibly friendly. The bed is very comfortable and the rooms are very cozy. I would repeat without any doubt. Shuttle service from airport is a 10 and cheaper than grab.

Everything was great. Nice staff, great location close to oldtown and room was clean and i liked the balcony. In breakfast there were some different local food everyday and fruits, but the plates are made in kitchen and brought to you.

Wifi doesn't function properly, it gets disconnected a lot. I had an esim so it didn't really bother me, however it is worth mentioning so that other travellers are informed.
The lady at the reception is a delight! I had a great stay. I had a private room with balcony and it was great. The location is also really good, very close to the old town.

The bathroom was a bit dirty and had a smell as it was adjacent to the shared bathrooms, and the ceiling isn't fully closed. The bathroom door was also not easy to close. The shower was ok, but it literally makes everything wet.
Moon was absolutely incredible! She made our stay 10/10 and is an absolute gem! She gave us all the tips, helped us book all.our tours. The hostel isn't very social but it's definitely worth a stay.

I stayed in the 6 Bed female dorm and it was really cosy- had two bathrooms and a small sofa. Lockers are given to you as well as a towel (free of charge). They also offered a lot of advice as well as options for tours and travel.

I really enjoyed staying here, but, there was no top sheet on my bed, only bottom sheet and blanket. The safe (safety box) in my room wasn’t attached to anything, so if someone wanted to they could easily just pick it up and walk away with it.

Only a small feedback, but the room could do with a repaint at some stage because of black mildew marks on the walls
The location was great; ten minutes walk to the centre but far enough out to be nice and quiet. Staff were lovely, room big and light with a really comfortable bed. Breakfast each day as well was a nice touch.
