Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyThe bathroom could use some more maintenance. The room out of the window was on a wall at 20cm. Otherwise it was fine.
Good position. Really good WhatsApp communication and helped us reserve a table in a special restaurant.

United KingdomStrange one this. We were made to feel really welcome when we checked in and the male receptionist had excellent English and service skills/recommendations. However, as we checked out the male receptionist asked me to see my booking details again via my booking.com app - I gave him my phone…… A few hours later, I wanted to review our stay at The Gatsby only to find out that a rating of 10/10 was given through my account - THIS WAS NOT ME. Did the male receptionist do this when he had my phone OR is there a bug……? Previously the male receptionist gave us some good advice regarding local attractions. In the room: For some reason there was a pair of men’s underpants drying on our balcony! 😂 The floor was very dirty - we found this out after having a shower. We had to wash our feet again. The fire exit ladder was blocked off. The toilet bin had a hole in it. The curtains were ripped.

CanadaThe receptionist Annie shouted and scared the roommate. Very rude behaviour. I requested to keep room for 30 minutes more as my room in other hotel was available a bit later. They wanted 50% of day rate to keep the room for another 30 minutes. If u book this room the keep it in mind it is located on a very narrow street with small industry of steel products development, so very noisy and very busy.

Netherlands1. During check in they asked me to cancel my booking, that they will offer me 10% discount. They also asked other guests to cancel. We refused. They know they are terrible so their intention was to cancel so that we don’t write our reviews. 2. I had already paid for another night on a different day, Un refundable. When I returned they said that the room was not ready. It was 2pm. Then asked me to cancel online so that they can upgrade me for the delay. I cancelled. They said it will be ready at 4pm which is ridiculous as check in is 2pm. I then left and returned at 4:30pm. Upon return, they said that the housekeeper went to hospital and no one can clean my room so they are moving me to another hotel. They also called some guests to cancel. I knew this was a stupid story, they overbooked & they tricked me to cancel so I don’t write a review. 3. They showed me the hotel (Lucky 3 hotel) an executive room. They took me there by bike. Reaching there, the Receptionists Mrs Huong and another younger girl, didn’t want to take me in. They were talking in Vietnamese then saying the hotel down the street is better and has a balcony & I should go there. I thought this is for sure a racist move because im not white! I refused to be moved again so they took me in and downgraded me to a lower category room without my knowledge. I saw online that executive rooms were still available. 4. The terrible lady receptionist sits at the guest couch watching YouTube via phone. Basically, her legs fully spread occupying guests couch, watching things, ignoring everyone. Super unprofessional. During check out I stood outside waiting for a cab because she fully occupies guests couch. 5. The rooms are run down (attached photos of 302). Leaking walls, Moulds & other filth. Guests – Please don’t be tricked into cancelling online for 10% discount/whatever. They do this so that you don’t post your honest review. 1000% NOT RECOMMENDED! CHECK THEIR FAKE REVIEWS, 90% FROM LOCALS!

AustraliaThe photos for the rooms are quite dated and the room was not very clean. The sheets and floors were dirty and the bathroom didn’t look like it had been cleaned in a while. The bed was also very hard.
The location was really good, we were mostly able to walk everywhere we wanted to go.

Sri LankaIt wasn’t anything like the pictures & wasn’t clean at all. Staff was sleeping in the front lobby, which looked Doggy! We had no other option as we had only few hours in Hanoi after coming from HaLong Bay and was leaving to SaPa early morning. Sheets were not clean, place was smelly, toilets didn’t look great! Receptionist just asked for the money as soon as we checked-in and nothing else was asked. Wasn’t helpful either. Not even when we were checking out. Wouldn’t recommend anyone this place!

MoldovaThe reviews are fake: all 10 point reviews are from locals, while the rooms in reality are far away from what you see on the pictures. Honest reviews are from foreigners and they are less then 5. The bed is a hard piece of wood with a thin mattress. Everything is old and barely breathing 😮💨
Location! “Exclusive” room is faced towards the backyard which makes it very quiet 👌The staff was nice and responsive. They gave every day at 10AM

United KingdomAlthough the windows were closed, it was like having a room outside on the main road, very noisy. The beds were rock hard and wouldn’t have been suitable for a nights sleep. The room and hotel in general lacked any interior design and felt very tired and dirty. The price really reflects what you’re paying for here in Hanoi.
Used this hotel as a pit-stop for a few hours before travelling onwards to the airport. The staff were friendly. It served this stay well as we didn’t sleep here, but if planning to stay more than a few hours, I’d consider somewhere else.
