Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsActually none. But if I mentioned it's a little bit noisy with thin walls. Can get cold in the winter mornings as downstairs is open but this is most places.
First if you want to do the loop don't hesitate. It's an amazing experience. We stayed before tet at this hostel so many shops were closed but they were open, had amazing food and there were so kind and helpful. We've stayed at many places but this is one we'll be remembering as how it has to be. They arranged the motorbike, helped us planning and the room was also really nice with heater and hot water. I would definitely recommend this place to stay in Ha Giang. They also have a cute dog.

The best place if you want to do the loop. They give very accurate info on all the options. The have new motorbikes, we decided to go for a guided tour, and were very pleased that we did. Our guide Holly made it very easy to drive the loop, she showed us all the interesting places and her English was really good.

Organised everything for our 3 day loop tour. Had no problem with us booking in for an extra night before getting sleeper bus to halong bay next day. Which they also organised. Absolute quality service. Rooms are very nice and facilities are great. Food is also amazing and freshly cooked to order.

Best hosts we've had so far. We did the loop and they let us store the luggage for free. The last day we came back and they let us use the motorbikes for free for a day. True legends, dont play pool against the owner. He is way to good.

FranceOnly the bathroom could be better, but it is still OK! Ah and is it possible to take a local bus by yourself to get to Hanoi from Ninh Binh, you just have to walk 45’ to get to the big road.
The situation, the swimming pool, the breakfast, the bikes, the mattress, wifi, and mostly: the hosts! So nice and helpful, the young couple is very attentive to the guests.

New Zealandbeds are harder however this is commonplace amongst accomodation.
Great facilities with rustic feel. Located a bit out of town but still easy to get to via buses dropping off. Handy to be able to rent motorbikes from them or have your options.

The staff were really kind and helpfull. I could have a breakfast after the time limite, and it was a good breakfast. The guy from the hostel took me to the city center for free. Good hostel if you rent your bike there and want to start the loop from there.

United States1. Better reception upon arrival rather than wandering around looking for assistance 2. Hospitality is priority #1: "can I help you" mindset is lacking - are the staff burned out? 3. No prices posted for food and beverages 4. Underneath the toilet seat was bad - yuck 5. The mattress was on the floor
1. Above average one-night stay 2. Comfortable mattress 3. Food (dinner and breakfast) was very good with large portions - kitchen staff - 5 stars! 4. Self-report beverage system shows good faith and trust 5. Excellent loop briefing including map notations

IrelandAmazing staff that were super friendly and helpful. We did the ha giang loop through them and I paid around €160 for 3 days 2 nights with an easy rider and it’s about €120 without one! Well worth the money as it included insurance, lunch x3, dinner x2 & breakfast x2 & then accommodation too. They also allowed us to chill at the hostel when we got back from the loop and shower too until we went to get our sleeper bus.

United KingdomIts a bit far from Ha Giang centre but they even offered us a bike to drive there if we needed anything!
The people who work there are so helpful. We stayed 1 night before the Ha Giang loop and the private room was comfortable and clean (great shower too). We wouldn’t recommend the shared rooms and worth paying extra for the private ones. The tour cost us £142 (4,050,000 Dong) for the 3 day 2 night guided tour including accom, all meals, water each day and an easy rider! (300,0000 without a driver). It was amazing and easily one of the best things we’ve done on our travels so far!! Thank you to everyone who looked after us and to Tuna our tour guide who was amazing!!

BelgiumThe hostel is rather far from the center, but if you rent the bike with them, you can use the bike the night before too to get to the center. The People of the hostel don't all speak english but nothing Google Translate can't fix.
The setting is so nice. The food is good, the rooms are good and they have lockers for your lugage during the Ha Giang loop. The Motorbikes were new and cheap (compared to the ones in the center). We got some dinner in the center, but when we Came back the personel was having dinner themselves (grill), so we got a second dinner with many happy happy waters with them.

United KingdomI love the layout of this place. It has an international restaurant serving western and vietnamese food. On the evening it was great to use the pool table for entertainment. I stayed in a private room, which was spacious with a big bathroom. The bed was really comfortable and the pillows were soft. I think this is a great place to stay before or after the Ha Giang Loop. The staff were incredibly helpful. I booked a transfer to Cat Ba online through 12goasia and after waiting an hour nobody turned up. The hotel staff managed to contact the company who then later picked us up in a taxi and took us to meet the bus on the road. When booking transfers please book through the hostel, as this makes it easier for them to manage you booking. It was also cheaper to do it through the hostel. Something I learned after booking it online. I recommend staying here.
