Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandThe prices of the trips were cheaper in other places. Ver high humidity level in the room, the towels couldn't dry.
Our room was upgraded for free. Very good location, but a little bit too loud from the street. Nice staff, they booked a bus for us. Kettle in the room, no tea or coffee though.

United KingdomRoad is very noisy and balcony wooden doors don't shut out that noise. We slept, but it did feel like we were sleeping in the street. Hairs in the bed so it didn't feel super clean like other places but I might be just being fussy. Not a sociable style hostel, just rooms and a lobby.
We were right in the heart of the old quarter. Really good location to explore everything. Good value for money.

United Kingdomroom was very small and lots of noise leaking from other guests. Also make sure you get laundry from the laundry place next door - they charge so much less than the hotel!

FranceThe room looks a bit older and not so clean and fresh like on the pictures. Humidity also but I guess it's everywhere in Hanoï (and as there is no evacuating system in the bathroom so humidity stays)
The location very central and convenient, the room is big, the hair dryer, the boiler, the kind and helpfull staff at the reception, the curtains for darkness into the room, the relatively calm environnement for a city center.

HungaryThey did not ask in these 5 nights if we would like a clean up in the room and we could not put a sign to ask for it. No real breakfast offered.
Location could not be better - in the very centre but it was still quiet in the night. The staff are polite and friendly and you can pay by card. They helped us book a taxi from the airport and a trip to the mountains. You can buy water at the reception.

EstoniaWhen choosing the room with balcony you should take into account that it is an old style building where there is no sound isolation on the balcony door, meaning that everything that happens out in the street, happens also in your room, sound-wise. So that did not ensure a good night sleep haha. Some accommodation options include breakfast but the breakfast options are very limited – quite ok for the few days I spent there but if you are planning a longer stay, skip the hotel breakfast and find better options outside the hotel.
The hotel has a very good location and a very nice staff. It's clean, has all the necessary facilities and offers in general a good price and quality ratio, particularly if you take into account it is only a two-star hotel. They offer a wide choice of extra services, helping you with taxi, booking the bus tickets and various tours in Northern Vietnam.

CanadaStaff was lukewarm, contrary to the tone of many reviews, and we could not check into our room until almost 8:30 pm due to what seemed to be staffing shortage. Understandable, but still frustrating after a full day of travel.
Location literally could not be beat especially for the price - very central. we loved having a balcony to enjoy Hanoi from above.

SpainProblems throughout my four nights stay with the internet. At peak times I struggled to get a connection. Drinking water has to be bought downstairs in reception as none is provided in the room. The room wasn't cleaned once in four days. The door to the balcony wouldn't close properly so it was quite cold at night.
Good location. Nice small balcony.

MalaysiaThe room was basic. Just suit for sleep after long travel. Not sure if they change the comforter. I hope they did. The room heater was not strong. Take a long time to warm the room. So .i had to leave the heater on the whole day. To ensure that the room stay warm. Still not warm enough, especially for us who's not used to cold winter. Luckily the shower heater was good. Only tthing the water from the shower was weak. Like i mentioned, just a basic go to sleep hotel.
It located in the old quarters. So very convenient and strategic. Staff were very helpful in everything. Helped me with travelling info, arranged for my airport transportation, got all my request promptyly - extra towels, spoons, tissue. There were friendly and speak very good english.
