Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe location of the hotel is great. Room was clean and staff helpful. I didn’t have a window in my room but was aware of this when booking. Staff spoke good English. The only let down was the breakfast it wasn’t great and you need to take stairs to get to it, might cause issues for some people

PhilippinesThe elevators were very small. But i don’t think this can be remedied because the Old Quarter buildings are really small.
The hotel staff were, generally, accommodating. The location is very good. It’s just a few steps away from the Hoan Kiem Lake and the market shopping area.

United KingdomWe arranged with the hotel to arrive 2 days later than planned & paid for. I have no problem with the hotel re letting my room during this time but had expected it to be ready when I checked in at 12. It wasn't & I was reallocated a room on the 8th floor. The elevator only goes to the 7th & it was quite tricky carrying suitcase up a narrow, spiral staircase. The room looked nothing like photos of the superior double I booked. The TV didn't work, nor did the phone, the window was small & the socket didn't have enough power to charge my phone. There was free tea & coffee but no cup. I twice went down to reception & was given a cup & extension cord. The mngr said the tv would be fixed later that evening but it remained broken for the rest of my stay. We met 2 other guests who had rooms on the 8th floor & they were asking to be moved. The hotel is quite a strange layout with 2 sides so it may be that rooms on " the other side" better match the photos on Booking.com. To get from my room on floor 8 to the breakfast room on 7, I had to walk down one floor, get the elevator down from 7 to reception, then take another elevator back to floor 7. The breakfast room is lovely with a great view over the city, and the breakfast was good. The hotel paid for my airport taxi to compensate for room problems, which was kind. As I said, the location is good and there are some good points about the hotel, but if you are looking for a 4star, I advise possibly looking elsewhere. We stayed in quite a few hotels during our 4 week trip & this was the only disappointing one.
Location is good. Plentiful hot water. Comfortable beds.

United KingdomThe decor was very tired. We had booked two twin rooms but on arrival were given a twin and a double. This was sorted the next day but we no longer had a balcony. The showers were cold. There were stairs that had to be climbed daily to access the lift.

AustraliaNo window room is exactly that. Small, narrow, little ventilation. Hot water was lacking. I think it may have been an electrical issue. Going back soon and will ask. I’ll update on next review unless we cancel.

United StatesThe shower head is quite low and inside a bathtub with no shower curtain, so it was impossible to take a shower without flooding the floor of the entire bathroom, and if you are over 4 feet tall, you will have to squat to get underneath the shower head. This was the only complaint I would have about the room.
Location was superb - walking distance to just about every major attraction. The room was spacious and comfortable and Cherry and her staff are exceptionally warm, friendly and helpful. The hotel breakfast is also a good value with plenty of diverse selections.
