We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomSound echoed quite easily through the hostel so could hear the pool and bar area from the top floor private room, but noise didn’t go on until late.
Great location - so close to old town. Can hire bikes for a good price. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

KazakhstanSmall things like It’d be good if there were curtains for each bed in dormitory, and in the bathroom there is no place to put my stuff like towel, clothes etc., and the bathroom area was too hot, and would be nice to leave the outside shoes downstairs or have flip flops or other shoes for entering the bathroom so it’d stay clean and more comfortable to use.
It is the best stay for its price and also one of the best stays I had while traveling in Vietnam 🙏. And the location is right near the old town so you can easily walk there. They are just opening and everything is new and clean. Breakfast was included, and you can choose what you want for breakfast with the nice coffee, they have water filter, laundry service, also you can rent a motorbike and bicycle for good price. The stuff is incredibly nice and helpful 🫶🏼. I had a great time there and would love to come back.

JapanThe breakfast left a lot to be desired. I was in a room of 4 and was given the top bunk right underneath the aircon. It makes NO sense to put a bed there because I got absolutely blasted by the cold air. The bunk is very shaky and any movement at all causes the entire metal frame to sway and creak. The room door locks from the inside. The inside. So, good luck if you are the last one leaving. Noises and chatting going on all night. The random grates through the floor mean that I heard people splashing around and playing in the pool at 4am on the floor beneath. Unfortunately my 3 other bunkmates spread literally all of their belongings all over the floor, and then returned at 3am crying and talking about something scary that happened on their night out. Hope they're okay! I had booked to stay for 3 nights and ended up moving to a hotel after just one night because I probably got about 3-4 hours of sleep in total.
The bed was very clean and the sheets were thin but soft. Front desk were very kind and refunded me for the nights I did not stay.

SpainNo curtains in the dorms' beds means no privacy. The bed mattress was hard. The lockers under the bed made noise when operated. The breakfast only included 1 fruit option (watermelon). The toilets had two small doors that open to the inside making it hard to get in/out of the toilet. The bikes they rent are a bit rusty and squeaky - double check them before leaving the place.
Filtered drinking water fountain available next to the pool. Located 10 minutes walking to the river. Omelettes and pancakes for breakfast. Activities organized in the afternoon to meet people and have fun. Shuttle to the airport felt more like a private taxi for a good price.

AustraliaThe beds were some of the most uncomfortable I have slept in. Sorry, but the thinnest mattress and the noisy bunk bed type. Rooms were spacious though. The noise travels and people were always up until 3/4AM and I didn’t sleep well at all. If you want to party and want a young crowd then stay here. It’s not the cleanest, but not gross, so overall could find better.
The location was great, pretty close to everything and good spots close by. Madan Khan for banh mi and white rose for dumplings. The staff were friendly and let us shower and such after our overnight bus. The staff were helpful for tours and information as well. The cooking class and coconut boats were class and only 400k. I recommend renting a scooter to do marble mountain and only do bana hills if it’s nice out. The 4 bed girl dorm has its own bathroom which is great. Overall ok experience, but would not book again.

DenmarkNo curtains. The drink offers at night were a bit of a scam. Only 15min for free drinks and barely any alcohol in them, mostly drinking soda for free. The buy 2 get 1 free is more expensive than buying just 1 drink making just a 50% discount on the second drink (not bad just false advertising) Almost everything purchased at the hostel was 10% more expensive than booking outside the hostel. Would think buying with them would make me a deal but I guess it just gave me comfort. Bathrooms were ok.
Over all is a nice place and cheap. A little light in every bed is good. Great eggs for breakfast!

AustraliaThey stole my money from my private room. They sold an awful service.
We had a really disappointing experience at this hostel. Money was stolen from my private room, and while they did take some responsibility by calling the manager and refunding me for my stay, the amount refunded didn’t even cover half of what was stolen. On top of that, they sold me an overpriced bus ticket from Hoi An to Dalat, which turned out to be a nightmare: a 13-hour journey on a bus without a toilet, in terrible conditions, and driven by a reckless driver that made the trip feel very unsafe. The girls from the staff were very sweet and kind to us, but unfortunately, this doesn’t make up for the overall bad experience we had at this hostel. I wouldn’t stay here again.

GermanyUnfortunately, the hostel is extremely focused on parties, and you could hear the music from downstairs even in the common areas. While they did clean a lot, the facilities are quite outdated and not very comfortable anymore. The staff was mostly very rushed and eager to sell tours. However, not everyone was unfriendly.
The location and the option for breakfast are quite good. Another advantage was the option to book shuttle buses from there, although they are of course a bit more expensive than regular buses.
