Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Great location and staff was superb. 2nd floor front room 101 was pretty quiet considering how close to the street it was. Not the newest place but room was clean odorless and the bed was pleasant. Good value

Absolutely nothing! It was a perfect experience from start to finish.
My stay at Hotel Du Palace was absolutely perfect! The room was impeccable, spacious, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The hotel staff was exceptionally attentive and caring throughout our stay. I would like to highlight the incredible service provided by Ms. Daily, who was essential in making our trip unforgettable. She helped us plan every detail, from tours to transfers, always with great care and professionalism. We booked all our tours with her: Ha Giang Loop, Halong Bay, and Ninh Binh, and everything was organized flawlessly. I highly recommend Hotel Du Palace to anyone looking for a complete and worry-free experience in Vietnam!

Some construction work in the next building during our stay, so a little bit of noise, but not depending on the hotel.
We were very warmly welcomed by Yung and Daily. They were really helpful, they upgraded us, facilitated an early checking and were super friendly. Thanks to you ! The room was clean and really comfy.

Place is ideally located in between train street on one side and water puppet theatre on another. Excellent support from Daily who arranged all our great trips to Ha Long, Cat Ba and Nin Binh. She also upgraded our room to accomodate our wishes for a room with window

Stains in the towels My room faced a very noisy street and there is no isolation, so I needed earplugs to sleep Pillows smelled old Staff insisting too much to leave a review.

The staff was very helpful! They ordered a transfer for us from and to the airport, supported us with booking trips to Halong Bay and Nimh Binh. We stayed in Hotel Du Palace for two nights at the beginning of our trip and decided to come back before our departure, because we felt so well taken care of here! The hotel is very comfortable, it offers good breakfast and is located in a great area (close to all main Hanoi attractions).

Excellent location very close to all attractions! Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with what to see and do, booking puppet shows and bus transfers to our next destination. Our room had lovely clean furniture and a large shower. We would recommend a stay here!

The entrance to the hotel is a bit chaotic and busy at times, and the decor a little dated (could be modernised or updated) but overall not big issues.
The staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. The rooms good and comfortable and the breakfast is good. The hotel is clean and well located in the old quarter with a lot of things in walking distance.
