Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Dorm beds are good and clean. Usb and light on the beds is available. Very friendly hosts. Nice terrace at the roof top. Hostel is really in good central place. Many restaurants are near by. Breakfast i have not tried. Hot shower (has to be switched on) is available inside a small combined toilet/bathroom. hot shower upstairs (last floor) was only cold. In the last floor there are two additional toilets.

There was a slight musty smell in the room but just opened the windows and it really wasn’t too bad.
Standard hotel room, but such good value for money. The hosts are incredibly kind, and we hired a scooter with her with ease and you can also hire bicycles too. They also provide a laundry service for a fair price, and they did a very good job. There is a terrace on the rooftop too which was lovely to sit on in the evening. The location is right by walking street but down a side road so it is still quiet. The shower was warm and had good pressure and there was a hairdryer in the room too which was a huge plus!

A bit simple. Hairdryer had to be returned after using, it means everytime I take shower I have to go and borrow from the 1st floor.
Very very convenient! Very clean. Safe. Owners are nice and kind. Pigeons are the neighbor friends (they could wake you up in the early morning, but I easily for asleep again).

If you’re visiting in winter, your feet might get cold because the floors are tiled. Thankfully, the hotel provides slippers, which solves the issue. The mattress isn’t the most comfortable. But in budget hotels, it’s rare to find a truly great bed, so I wasn’t expecting much. If you have back problems, it might feel uncomfortable. The Wi-Fi isn’t very fast. It’s fine for messaging and social media, but streaming movies, YouTube, or working online could be challenging.
An excellent hotel tucked away in a quiet alley just steps from the bustling tourist street. The staff is super friendly, and the service is top-notch. Spotlessly clean – both in the rooms and throughout the hotel. There’s air conditioning and a fan, but I didn’t need them since I visited in January, and it wasn’t hot. Hot water is available in both the shower and the sink, which is a huge plus in Vietnam. They also provide toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, toothbrushes, and towels). Everything was fresh, clean, and neatly organized. Plenty of power outlets for charging devices, which is super convenient.

Strongest point of Maily Hostel is Maily herself, extremely kind with a great smile. The room didn't entirely matches the description but Maily accomodated us with her best option, we rented a scooter for 3 days at a great price, laundry was fast and impeccable, breakfast was good and included fresh fruit, the accomodation is simple but well located nearby the walking street, all the above made for a very pleasant stay 😊

A little loud as it's next to the walking street but the noise ends by 10 or so. Not the hotels fault but some general advice for fellow travellers: Grabs were hard to book in this area, possibly just because of the Reunification Day holiday, we found the nearby company Hue Green Taxi very affordable and responsive.
Very friendly host family, always happy to help with tours, transport etc. Conveniently located right next to the walking street with bars and restaurants, as well as being a short drive (10 mins) from the citadel. Room was quite basic but this matched the price so we were happy. Rooms have both AC and a fan that work well, as well as a TV with Netflix. Breakfast is available at an extra cost, as are drinks from the fridge.

Huge room. Nice place to stay on a quiet street, near enough to everything but very quiet. Friendly staff, helped with laundry and booking a bus to our next location.

The bathroom was really small so if you are tall it might be difficult to sit on the toilet normally. But maybe that just depends on the room.
The owners are super friendly, they helped us rent a bike, gave us tips and booked us a shuttle bus. We had a room for our selfs so I don’t know how what the dorms are like but the room was good for the price we paid.

I only spent one short night here but had a good stay. Staff is very friendly and the place feels safe and quiet even though it is located on the busy night walking street. If you are vegan then there are 3 vegan restaurants close by.

The owner of Mai Ly guesthouse, Ms. Lieu, made me very welcome. She is a wonderful host, very helpful when I was working. She also makes a great breakfast! Super location.
