Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Tv doesn’t really work but not a huge issue as barely in the room.
An amazing location right in the heart of the old quarter but far enough away from the main streets. We were slightly worried when we arrived as we are light sleepers and our room was on the street that we would struggle with noise but, and we stayed over a weekend, not only do they shut the road some nights but the whole street goes quiet at around 2230 each night so we slept amazingly. Comfortable bed and decent bathroom with a separate shower cubicle. The staff are fantastic, Annie gave us loads of great recommendations and we sat down with Tommy one night and he gave us some of his Mums rice wine to try - strong but lovely! All in all, would definitely stay again and thank you for our great stay.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Size of room is good for one person. It has a lift. I didn' meet Tommy but he was always welcoming me.

My room didn’t have any windows. Which was no problem at all.
The staff here are so warm and lovely. They’ll make sure you have everything sorted for your stay in Hanoi and go above and beyond. I really appreciated their small gestures of kindness. The location in the old town is great, and they’ll point you in the direction everything you need.

The receptionists, staff and manager were the sweetest people we’ve come across. Always around to help and give us some local recommendations around the area! Location was right in the old town and easy to get to.

All of the staff are just fantastic, so friendly and helpful. We were made to feel very welcome. A huge thank you to the manager Tommy especially who provided amazing service, he even booked a whole trip to Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba island that we really enjoyed! We stayed twice and both rooms were nicely decorated, spacious, and clean. Highly recommend.

Very central ( to old city) location. Tommy is a wonderful host and all the staff were fantastic, friendly and courteous. A wonderful place to set off and explore the city or hop on a tour to cat ba etc.

- we paid a bit extra for city view* but from 2nd floor window, all we could see was the neighbor buildings and the alley. - The window blind could not be retracted and it was very dusty - Shower head could be replaced or fixed
- Great Location - Awesome staff with great recommendation for restaurants - We did not need room service but they leave 2 water bottles and fresh towels everyday for us (the only one that does it during my whole vietnam trip) - comfy bed and nice room size

For the price, there is nothing I would complain about
The thing that made this hotel great were the staff. Annie was so friendly and gave me a map with places to eat and things to see and always offered a fresh juice for free when waiting. It was clean and looked exactly like the photos.

Tommy and the staff really make this property a highlight of Hanoi, you are welcomed as soon as you arrive regardless of what time (I arrived 11pm) they are happy to welcome you in. It feels like home and that is written in the elevator shaft that you are part of the family. Tommy gave me an awesome recommendation for some Beef Pho close by which was delicious, he then booked a laundry service for me and organised my ride to the airport. Great location & price!

Shower needs some deep cleaning. I guess it was old stain that couldn't be scrubbed clean.
Staff, Tommy and another man ( sorry forgot his name) are very helpful, you can book tours through the hotel too. Too bad I already made arrangements beforehand. Near to the night market, and most attaractions are within walking distance. You can grab a taxi/ Grab if you don't fancy walking.

The hotel is located in the old town, you have everything you need close by - supermarket, street food, coffee, restaurants. The staff is great, very helpful and speaks English fluently. Our room size was ok, there was no storage for our things, so they had to stay in our suitcases.

The staff at NT Elysian were nothing short of amazing. So incredibly accomodating and gave us so much information and reccomendations for our holiday. Annie at the front desk answered all our questions and was always there to help us. We felt so welcome at their hotel. Location was perfect to be able to walk a short distance to all of the tourist locations and great value for money.

the room next to the stairs was a bit noisy with people passing by
- super friendly and helpful staff - We loved that Annie welcomed us and gave us great local recommendations - The welcome drink and cake were also super nice and delicious - Close by lots of great restaurants and cafes - Before checkin and after checkout we could use the toilet, and even shower if we would wish - We could use their printer for train tickets - We totally recommend the accommodation that after our trip to Sapa, we came back. They are flexible and we spontaneously shorted our stay in order to go to Sapa, and added one night when we came back - Even though it is in the middle of the old quarter caos, as soon as you get inside the hotel there is a tranquil environment

The hosts were extremely kind and helpful and made my girlfriend and I feel like family. They offered us tea and dinner, and even helped us book a last-minute shuttle and cruise in Ha Long Bay. The room was also quiet and the bed comfortable. Perfect location in the old quarter. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to stay at NT Elysian and can’t wait to come back :)
