Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThe 4 bedroom female dorm was tiny, I heard it was the smallest room in the hostel, it does have a big balcony but just to be aware!
Very friendly and helpful staff, I only stayed a night and didn’t have breakfast. Location is great and the vibe was friendly and nice, with a few really big common areas. Nice space in the bunk with a little cupboard to and shelf to store your stuff, a plug and a light. Dorm had a nice balcony.

United KingdomIf you lose something, check with the reception asap. I lost my passport and I thought I was doomed. I checked with the reception after a while cause I wasn't sure where I had left it. They thankfully had it, but they also could have let me know when they did to avoid my panic attack.
Amazing hostel. Very clean, and they have a canteen in the lobby. The rooms are spacious and clean; mine had a balcony, and the storage space is quite good. They host a lot of events that you can join and meet people. You can also just hang out in the lobby and chat with people. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Most people are solo travellers too!

IranThe location is top-notch, excellent, and easy to get around. The building is well-maintained and clean. I stayed in a 4-bed dormitory, which was pretty compact; I guess the 6-bed ones are more spacious. The hostel organizes events and tours for free, which is appreciated.

United StatesEven after cutting the lock off of my locker when I switched bunks, they bought me a new, better, lock within an hour. They were also willing to jump on phone calls to help me communicate with folks since I don't speak Vietnamese! They would also follow up with me to see how my plans turned out and made an effort to connect with me personally!

GermanySometimes the room was a bit warm because there were only fans and no ac in the room.
Very clean and comfy. Staff was really great and helpful. Location was great as it’s in the old quarter of Hanoi.

It is very clean, staff do cleaning everyday, no noise, bed is super comfortable that I had best sleep ever in Vietnam for the two nights stay. We are lucky to have four gals in the mix dorm, gals are lovely too. Breakfast is available for order and value for money which is lots of options including both local and western, I had all my breakfast in the hostel. Staff provided good recommendations and there is walking your and night event you can join also. Before heading to airport I rushed to grab Cafe Giang egg coffee as staff said it’s the best one there! All in all it makes my trip with more comfort, thank you so much!

GermanyOnly issue was the A/C was often left on during the night by other guests, which made the room chilly during the nights (Winter/January).
Great location, hidden down an alley right around the corner from the noisiest parts of Old Quarter. Dorms were all clean, beds were great. Breakfast seemed fairly priced. Staff were helpful and friendly. Bathrooms seemed to be cleaned quite regularly. Great price and value for money as a base to explore all of Hanoi.

New ZealandThis is a luxury, but would have been nice to have some filtered water or something to prevent the full usage of plastic bottles.
The beds were comfy and super clean and the rooms were nice and dark for sleeping. Also the common area is great for meeting people and the breakfast was so good.

BelgiumVery nice hostel to stay at as a solo traveller. It's a very social hostel but not a party hostel. They organize activities every day and night so it's very easy to get to know other people. Location is great, it's located right in the old quarter though you don't hear any street noise in the rooms. Rooms and bathroom were clean.

AlbaniaOnly two things i didnt like: - the fact that the AC and the fan were always on, which sometimes was kind of inconvenient as the room would get a bit cold. At first they told me they had to stay on at all times, but after a second inquiry they turned them off. - the room i happened to stay in had no natural light since it didnt have a window, which is not that big of a deal, but if i had known, i would’ve asked them to give me a room with a window.
Really nice hostel with great facilities and in a really good location. Lockers were relatively big (you got two lockers, a big one for your luggage and a small one by your bed for your personal things, which i thought was very nice), you got a towel at check in (you had to leave like 200,000 VND deposit which you got back after you checked out), everything was clean, and there was daily housekeeping.

United KingdomIf I was being picky, a towel in the bathroom in the dorm to dry your hands would be good.
No hesitation in recommending this hostel (I was in 6 bed female dorm). Comfortable beds, big lockers, lockable cabinet with shelves, plug socket and light by the bed Good breakfast for 50k Good quiet location
