Although the hotel is a little out of the way, we had an excellent time there. The view is incredible, the staff attentive, and we enjoyed having dinner there one evening, for a cost that was not exorbitant. We recommend it. Perhaps a little lacking in entertainment, especially in the evening....

You have to know that you have to drive 10‘ with the scooter to get to town. The food in the hotel could be better (its also bit expensive).

Friendly stuff, huge and nice pool, private clean and nice beach, nice rooms, nice balcony with sea view. Some of the stuff speak good english and can give very good tips.

There was a smell of mushrooms in the room, and there seemed to be some clumps under the wallpaper. The rooms are a bit in need of renovation.

There is a private beach, usable on low tide which for us was noon, on high tide there is no sand beach. Very nice personnel, possibility to rent a scooter, and with scooter the road from center is actually very nice to drive. I do prefer this location to the center as the center is a bit dull

The staff was kind of pleasant, but they need some more training. If you want to be a 4 star hotel with Western clients, things like clearing the tables at breakfast, lunch and dinner need to be more prompt. One breakfast buffet I walked in and there were only half of the tables occupied, but there was only one table to choose from as the rest of them had dirty dishes on them. They have an egg station at the buffet, but even though there weren't many people dining, the lady would pre-cook eggs and an omelette, which weren't under a heat lamp, so you often received a cold dish. It's the only place in Vietnam where the egg station wasn't cooked to order. One dinner I ordered mushroom carbonara and the menu stated that it had ham and bacon, but it only came with mushrooms. I complained, a manager came over (the first one I saw since I was there) and they sent it back and gave me a new one that was better. It wasn't quite worth the Western price that they charged...but better. However, I would have thought that the manager would come by and check on me, that everything was good...but I didn't see him again. At that dinner too, 1/3 of the tables had dirty dishes on them and there were 3 staff and the manager standing/sitting by the bar, not bothering to clear them. Kinda ruins the ambience. And you are kind of stuck with what they give you as the nearest restaurant is 10 km away in town. The resort seems like it would have been amazing 25 years ago, but not much upkeep has happened since. There's paint peeling on the outside of the building and chipped marble stairs. There's supposed to be a "Sky Bar" on the 5th floor but that is not operational and seems to be under some repair. Same with the pool, there are seats in the pool to have a pool bar, but it is not in operation. This place could be good again...but some effort and investment is required by the owners

The bay that it is located in is beautiful, although be aware that you can only swim in the sea at low tide. In general, my room, which was ocean facing with a balcony, was very nice, it just had a few little problems like a strange smell that I would notice when I first entered the room, the door wouldn't shut without me pulling up a bit on the doorknob, the cabinet door to the fridge also needed help, and a drawer at a writing desk would open up on its own as the desk was slanted. The pool was lovely, but as I have seen on other reviews, it needs a good cleaning as there was some algae on the tiles on the walls of the pool. It had a very strange toilet/shower by the pool too...with a huge room with a toilet all by itself in the corner. There was no door to stop anyone from coming in while you might be doing your business... The scooter rental was great. 150k dong for the day. The shuttle service to and from the airport was also good.

The hotel is very comfortable and has everything you need to have a relaxing stay. It is not very close to the city but you can rent a motorbike for half a day (70k vnd) or a full day (150k vnd). Or take a taxi for 200kvnd one way. There is also a free shuttle in the morning and in the afternoon and free round trip airport transfer. The food for breakfast is quite good, there is a wide range of choices, for everyone. But what is really great is the effort the staff puts in to go the extra mile and make our stay as pleasant as possible. I really appreciated the human touch, it is very valuable. Thank you for making our stay very enjoyable for my whole family.

No access to a spa at the location! No Room Service! Its great having access to the sea, but attempting to walk on rocks felt unsafe and dangerous as there was no lifeguards on duty. I would recommend the hotel cleans up the beach by clearing some rocks to make a clear path for people wanting to swim in the ocean.

It seems like they are unable to keep up with maintenance. The restaurant offers limited choices and the lighting was boring. Breakfast buffet was below average. No on-site entertainments in the evening.

The location is amazingly tranquil and peaceful nested between mountains and the sea. The staff is very friendly. The private beach is beautiful. I also like the swimming pool.

The room is spacious but very modest in terms of decoration, it could be much better. But what I didn't like was that it took ages for the staff to clean up room service in the corridor (there was a tray outside a room left there for 2 days) and to also clean up at the pool. There were always dirty glasses left there during the entire day or dirty pool towels. It's not like the hotel is full so could definitely do better of the cleanliness.

What makes this resort stand out really is the pool, beach and location. Location was good for us as we didn't want to stay in the city centre like we did during our previous stay so we very much enjoyed the quiet Location and it's small beach with crystal clear water. Overall the resort is fine with all the necessary necesities but a bit run down. We speak vietnamese so it was easy to communicate with the staff and we didn't have any issue in terms of requests etc. We enjoyed the smoothies prepared at the bar too. Room was very quiet so we slept well.

Our shower had no curtain, and the bathtub wasn’t effectively sealed at the wall, so pools of water would flood the bathroom every time we showered. Worth noting that the laundry service is shockingly expensive - this perhaps is common practice in some hotels, but the pricing was itemised, down to the socks! This would add up hugely if you had a whole load of laundry to do.

We loved our stay at the Orson! The pool was exceptional, and the private beach was also lovely. The restaurant was great, the staff were fantastic and very accommodating. The hotel is not within walking distance to anything, but the location is superb if you’re happy to rent a moped / take taxi’s into town / hang out by the pool all day! We rented mopeds from the hotel, it was very reasonably priced and great fun.

The quality and standard of the breakfast could perhaps be improved. Even the level of cleanliness is not exactly excellent (we cleaned the shower drain ourselves; the balcony is not part of the daily room cleaning protocol, so adjust accordingly...). In 3 days of our stay we were unable to obtain instructions for using the safe: in the end we gave up on using it.

Con Dao is very, very beautiful. And the location of the Hotel is ideal if what you are looking for is tranquility. It is about 5 km from the only town on the island of Con Son. You will need a scooter to get around. But you will still need a scooter to get around the island, whatever hotel you choose for your stay. The bay in front of the hotel is very pretty, with its private beach. The small Bãi Nhát beach about 2 km east of the resort is also very beautiful: perhaps one of the most beautiful spots in the entire Con Dao. The Hotel has all the essential services, has beautiful rooms (we had chosen an Ocean View), and the quality of the services is OK for a Hotel of that category (considering the context: you are in Vietnam and you are on a small island ...). A fair amount of the staff speaks English and everyone is very kind and friendly

Wifi works very poorly, the signal is bad. The bar is also very poor, they didn't have any ice cream, although we stayed 6 days in the hotel, there was no ice cream for my kids during 6 days. The barman works very-very slow. There are always few customers in the bar, but you will wait 30 or 40 minutes for your drink anyway, and even if you will remind the barman about your order, he will not be friendly with you and works slowly, not willing to have any contact with clients, so we had to moved to another places to spent time in the evening instead to stay in the hotel

The view from the swimming pool is perfect. The family room is big, I liked it, everything in the room was in good condition.

TV channels could be with more foreign options , food menu is available but many food are not available, so take note. Some of the facility around need more attention ( repair, clean up .. )

If you are looking for real Relax ( remote & quite area ) , its best choice for you... Huge room with huge balcony with direct view to the sea...Clean room & facility ... breakfast very good... receptionists & barman really helpful and cooperative. Check in & Check out fast & without problem. Many option for trips around Con Dao Island.. WiFi coverage & speed very good. Transfers from & to Airport ( cca 45 minutes ) without problems.
