Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Elegant room, comfortable bed, good quality towels and bed linen. Room was very well equipped. Staff was very professional, attentive and helpful Location was fantastic just opposite the lake Breakfast served at room at your desired time without extra charge

They should reopen the rooftop bar! Weekend noise can be a problem if staying at front of hotel
Great location at the foot of Hoan Kiem lake. Exceptionally friendly and capable staff. Really helpful with storing luggage when we were travelling around Vietnam.

The room layout was a little tight, but worked fine and had space for a little sitting area and desk.
The staff is the absolute BEST! The rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed. Look for your fruit tray when you arrive and at tea time each day and enjoy it on your balcony. The restaurant is small but does a nice job accommodating special diets. Located facing the lake in the center of town, the hotel is only a few blocks from the Opera House and a block from the Women's Museum. Street food, shops, and upscale restaurants are all within walking distance.

Great location for the Opera House and general amenities.. fabulous friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for you and a good breakfast! Rooms were lovely and clean and very comfortable bed!

It was a pity the rooftop bar was closed, I think temporarily, although we were able to take some drinks up there anyway.
Without exception the staff could not have worked harder to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms at the front of the hotel have an interesting view of the lake and although they are on the road, the triple glazing is very effective at keeping the noise out. It was great to enjoy breakfast in our room at no extra charge.

nothing! we had a room where there was severe drilling noises because construction was happening nearby but it stopped after a day and they did volunteer to move us to another room
the location is fantastic, right along the lake and it’s smaller as it’s a boutique which meant that the staff were very attentive, shout out to Hau and Giang for being wonderful!

The breakfast has to be ordered the evening before. But at the same time has the advantage that you can order it to your room without extra fee.
The staff was amazing. Hotel with a very good location. Everything was very comfortable.

The staff were extremely polite and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. There is always a smile on the faces of the staff and they are very polite. There is no better location in Hanoi than this one. All important places can be reached by foot within one or two kilometers of the hotel. It is a lot of fun to attend the weekend fair that happens right in front of the hotel. Seeing Hanoi's social life through this lens is a great experience.
