It is located really beautiful and a good place to start exploring the area from. Beds are very comfy and the bathroom is really nice. And the staff was great!

We had a pretty disappointing experience at the hostel. A man in our room came in drunk, pissed all over the floor and got in another girls bed with his pants down. To make matters worse, the staff member who showed my friend to the room while this was all happening seemed drunk. When she told him that there was piss all over the room, he brought up a mop and just pushed the pee into peoples bags… She asked to move room, and despite him literally just showing her there, told her that she didn’t have a booking. The following day a staff member apologised to the room and offered to do laundry for people’s things but other than that NO compensation was offered for what was quite a horrible experience. No sort of partial refund or even an offer of a drink or breakfast. I was shocked when on the last day after check out they told us we’d have to pay if we wanted a towel for the pool… someone literally pissed all over our room like cmon, just give us a towel. Even without the awful experience, this hostel is way overhyped. The bathrooms are mixed and not clean. The showers are pretty meh. We found that some of the staff were lovely but most were unfriendly and unhelpful. It was also poorly organised. We’d requested a room together and we were told that was done. Then once we arrived, they told us we were in separate rooms. We had to really push for them to move us as they said there was no space. A “cancellation” apparently happened out of the blue (without the staff even looking at their screen lol). We had been told this hostel was class and it just didn’t live up to the expectation at all. Go to the bar/pool but stay somewhere nicer.

If I would’ve stayed longer than one night, I would’ve changed my accommodation! - Mould, dirty floors - Lockers under the bottom bunk - not clean either - AC in the dorm is only turned on from 6pm-10am. That’s why it is boiling hot in the room - Ensuite Bath for lots of people boiling hot, there’s only one little fan, mold, really dirty, didn’t want to touch anything there - Mosquitoes!!

Outdoors and Pool Area are nice. Staff is very kind and helpful. I could use the amenities till i was leaving for the night bus. - Luggage Storage - Allowed to shower before leaving

For me personal it was a bit too much of a party hostel, loud music and noise untill late. I was also unlucky that the people in my dorm didn’t care about the other people in the dorm, but that’s not the hostels fault. Booked a tour through the hostel which was nice but not what they said it would be. Supposed to go to a bear sanctuary but didn’t go and we were supposed to drive a motorbike ourselves but were taken there by van. Maybe good to change the information about the tours?

The deluxe 8 bed rooms are really nice while the 6 beds rooms are not nice at all. And this is not mentionned when you book, still don’t get why there is such a big difference The staff barely speaks english which is not normal, can’t help with anything even less give any advice.

Personal in reception were unfriendly, not flexible and unwilling to help in basic needs. I felt as if I was one in a million customers they had to attend. At one point they were basically ignoring my questions. Besides, they charge you for very basic needs which come are included in many hostels throughout Vietnam. Feels like a massive accommodation optiob with no personality.whatsoever

Very expensive food and drinks at the bar on site compared to local establishments just outside. Definitely a party hostel. Dorms are near the bar so quite a lot of noise from outside. Air con in room wasn't great so had to rely on noisy fans.

Staff were helpful and efficient at organising airport transfers. Location in the centre of Tam Coc is good. Pool was a nice bonus. Dorm beds were wide and fairly comfy with plenty of room to safely lock belongings away.

This is definitely a party hostel, and is loud until quite late at night. There are many many dorms, so it is really busy all the time, too much so and as such I felt like it was really hard to meet people. The rooms are quite dark, and the beds not the most comfy. The location is also much less in nature than I had thought from the pictures. I saw multiple rats around the site, and I saw one running under the hostels kitchen counters- and given people kept leaving the bedroom doors open, I was very worried about them coming into the dorms. The food is also pretty pricey on site (though I didn’t actually end up trying it after seeing the rats). On my final night in a 6 bed mixed dorm, they checked in a group of five men into my room who ended up making me feel unsafe to sleep there. When I went to speak to the staff, they knew exactly the situation already having clocked it when they checked the group in but had left it for me to find out for myself which I was disappointed with. The hostel was fully booked, so I said I wanted to leave and would take a night bus instead, and I had to be quite pushy to have them refund me for the room fee, but ultimately the staff did accommodate my requests and apologise for the situation as they agreed with why I didn’t want to stay. I was really surprised they are allowing groups of five people of one gender to book mixed dorms, as it was my understanding that mixed dorms would always have a min 2:4 ratio, and I would never be put in a situation of being in a room of five men, so if you are a solo women, I would warn you this isn’t always the case.

The hostels is in a central location in Tam Coc, and has nice restaurants close by. The pool area was nice to relax.

It is a party hostel ultimately, so if you want the young traveller vibe this would be good for you. There’s very loud music until 12 which you can hear in the rooms. Quite big and unfriendly - had less personality than other places I’ve stayed.

I booked a female only 4 bed dorm back in February, on booking.com I was rather shocked when I realised they had changed my booking to a mix dorm and had to spend 2 nights sharing my dorm with 3 men. I was told female only dorms weren't bookable on booking.com, however I am 100% sure this is what I booked months ago. BT clearly changed things around, and did not inform me nor provided me with any other solution. Talking to some other girls, their female only dorms also ended up being mixed, despite what they'd originally requested...

I liked the location, and the outdoor area. The food and drinks served at the bar weren't the cheapest, but were very good and there would often be some deals on for drinks

The air con in lake view room was so cold every night the food was quite expensive for a hostel and the tours were mental expensive prices no real atmosphere in the bar area at night no activities to get people involved

Let's face the harsh reality here. The hostel is overbooked for its capacity and the cleanliness and maintenance doesnt satisfy. The toilets are used by too many people but not cleaned as often and the same goes for the swimming pool. Since they have a poolside bar outside visitors are welcome too, who occupy a lot of space at times and don't leave much choice for the hostel residents to sit or relax in the common area around the pool bar. The bike tour they offer for 55USD is overpriced and there are much better and cheaper options available outside. There is a rat/ mice problem and some of my dorm mates had their backpacks chewed up at night! They don't have any soap to shower with like other hostels do, so bring your own. Their bins are overflowing and the cleaning staff comes only oncr at 10 every morning. So the rest of the day it stinks ! The airconditioner is turned on only for limited hours so in the hot months of summer, a noisy swing fan is all what you can rely on in a mixed bed dorm. Maybe it's better in single rooms, I can't say. The average age of people is 18-23 years, so loud music and jumping in the pool, loud chatter etc continues everyday until at least 1 a.m. I really wish they would have a better management since it's a great space and I can imagine improvement .

The location is great and the staff speak a bit of English, but not everyone. The staff at the sunset bar are extremely nice and polite, and service is good too

Room was ok, Bathroom was not the best. Very little privacy, staff would come in to turn on and off the AC manually twice a day. When the room was cleaned the Main door was also left open after they were done. We had a problem in our room that the electrical box in the room went on fire, we could smell smoke for a few hours but assumed it was a moldy smell form the AC which was turned on around the same time the smell started. When we returned later on in the evening we had no power and the smell was alot worse. Staff did not seem to care about this incident and just replaced the fuse that night and said it went on fire from being old.

Was a nice Hostel , enjoyed the bar area and the food was good. Helped us organize a bus from Ha long bay to the hostel. Helped us organize a VIP sleeper bus to Phong Nha , very helpful and good price. Also used there laundry service and it was good.

I didn't have access to hot water in the bathroom. I think labelling switches in the room could be helpful to know.

I stayed in the VIP dorm and the beds were very spacious and comfortable. The locker was spacious too. The location of the hostel made it very easy for me to explore Ninh Binh simply on a cycle as well. I enjoyed the coconut coffee at Sunset Bar and it was super delicious. I would highly recommend. There's plenty of seating near the pool and bar area. So you can be social if you want to or even be by yourself comfortably.

Perfect if you are a solo traveller or wanting to meet people. Dorms very comfy and found it very clean. Great western food. Rented bikes which wasn’t too expensive. Can’t get a more central location but found this a little too tourist and busy.

Feel like this hostel is quite over hyped, has defo fallen victim to the TikTok effect. It’s actually quite run down I have to say, top bunks are a borderline death trap. Defo doesn’t look like the pics could do with some renos, be careful hiring scooters here as every day we did we got ones with broken mirrors, lights, breaks. Quite sketchy.

Staff are simply incredible, couldn’t do enough for you. Great happy hours & comfortable mattresses. Food was great. Again, the staff really made our stay here they are an asset to the hostel & the only reason I would return.
