Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwedenFor how affordable the stay was, everything can be overlooked. If to point out anything it would be that the water pressure was weak and that the breakfast can be more varied. Overall we had a comfortable stay!
Anh Quan View Point provides a comfortable stay at an affordable price. We loved the kindness of the family, the services provided, and the tranquility of the rooftop terrace. Laundry came back fresh and on time, the plankton tour booked through the hotel was great, and you can eat enjoying an unbeatable view on the rooftop terrace.

PolandView Point Anh Quan currently offers the most beautiful view in the area — especially now, with major construction happening in the town center. The location is fantastic, just a 3-minute walk to the port, where all the boat tours currently depart. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. But what really sets this place apart is the service. The staff are incredibly helpful and assist with organizing your entire stay. We booked several tours directly through the hotel — the prices were fair, and we were very happy with the quality. Although we didn’t rent a scooter ourselves, the hotel does offer that option as well as help with arranging transportation and other services you might need. We especially appreciated that they let us check in early and, even more, that after our tour, we were allowed to take a shower and freshen up, even though our stay had officially ended and we were just waiting for a bus. Another highlight is the rooftop terrace — a very comfortable space for guests to relax and enjoy a breathtaking view of the bay.

United KingdomA 10 min walk into town, which was fine, but be prepared for a steep(ish) hill on the return leg
Really convenient for various cruises leaving Beo Harbour. Wide variety of tour packages and transfers available (although we didn’t book they were in-line with other prices). Nice new facilities and wonderful view from the rooftop bar. Ask for a sea view room!

United KingdomWe would have liked more Vietnamese food options available. However the more typically western food options were really appreciated by some in our group so you can never please everybody.
It's a beautiful location away from all the building work in the town and 5 mins walk from the port for the boats trips on Lan Ha bay. The rooftop area looks out onto the bay. So beautiful. We stayed for 2 nights and did an evening boat trip to kayak and see the bioluminescent plankton (really worth seeing) and a full day one too. Rooms were very comfortable with good showers. Breakfast was sufficient with a choice of eggs, toast, pancakes and a couple of other bits. We could order cocktails to be brought up to the rooftop area and also food.

United StatesVery nice rooms, we expected a bit less since the stay was so cheap, but it turned out great. Hotel staff really nice. We rented a scooter from them on the first day. Cat ba town is under construction, so the views and noises are not appealing, but this hotel is out of the construction zone. It’s a 4 minute walk from the harbor where a lot of the tours start, and a 10 minute walk to the center. Recommended!

United KingdomLovely view as property is situated right on the waterfront. Good location positioned between the harbour and the main town centre, about a 10-15 minute walk in either direction. Staff were incredible, hello with arrangements for travel, tours and food all at reasonable prices. The place had a nice homey feel, very relaxed, would recommend.

NetherlandsThis was the best hotel we stayed at in Vietnam! The views from our room and the rooftop were incredible, we were so lucky and especially since the other side of the island was completely filled with construction, but there was no sign of it where we were. The room was huge, the bed super comfy and the bathroom was modern and clean. The breakfast was great! The guys who ran the place were so so lovely, professional and friendly. Could not recommend this place enough, we'd love to stay here again if we come back to Cat Ba!

United KingdomNothing to do with the hotel but right in front of the property is a small beach area that might as well be inaccessible as it has old fishing related building and piles of rubble and rubbish. If someone was to clean this area up it would be a stunning beach with the views out into the bay. But I guess if this was done there would be a lot more high rise hotels appearing - which I am sure they will in a few years. Enjoy the views from the roof terrace but don't look at the beach area 😊
Cat Ba town is undergoing a huge building project that will change the entire atmosphere and feeling to the island. We chose View Point hotel based on its location away from town after reading other reviews. Whilst only about 10 - 15 minutes walk from the main town you walk over a headland to a small bay with a dead end road that leads to the boat terminal for all day trips around the island. It's much quieter than town and the hotel has incredible views out over the bay to the limestone karsts. Our room faced the bay and had huge bi-fold doors on a small balcony that you could open to admire the view - well worth paying a tiny bit extra for these rooms. They also have a wonderful rooftop terrace / bar area with the best views. We had some delicious food here when we didn't want to walk into town and the breakfasts were brilliant - a real bonus considering its so reasonably priced. The owners were friendly and helpful and can organise trips for guests, we hired some of their scooters to explore the island - well worth doing as the roads are so quiet and it enables you to explore the lush interior at your own pace. There are some better positioned modern hotels with sandy (but crowded) beaches on the edge of Cat Ba town but for the price and location I would say this is the best hotel on offer.

SwitzerlandWe liked the hotel for the quiet location, no construction site nearby (yet). The main town center is just a 20 minute walk over the hill. The view from the rooftop is delightful. The room and bathroom are spacious and the shower is great. Quan and his family are helpful, very friendly and really customer oriented. Sitting down in the lobby playing Billiard and having a drink was fun.
