Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandDue to bad weather cutting the power, toilet water supplies were cut off for long periods of time (with no generator) which meant toilet flushing facilities weren’t working. So perhaps something to consider educating guests on work arounds or use a generator?
Location and facilities close to pool and beach were exactly why we stay! No complaints about access to filtered and hot water during power cut through gas stove and kitchen staff were amazing. Staff comms about power cuts were great.

New ZealandStray dogs/cats (but we also had this at a much more expensive resort in Apia so I think it’s maybe unavoidable in Samoa). Patchy wifi. Some of the facilities and decking are a little tired and they did have a power outage one day but they soon fixed it. If you’re looking for impeccable facilities and subservient staff then this might not be the place for you. But if you’re looking for amazing ocean views and a relaxed family feel then this is your hotel.
Beautiful views across ocean. The ocean is right there from the pool, and the restaurant. Can walk into the ocean right from the restaurant/pool area and snorkel. Poolside and beach side rooms good. Food good especially fish but portions can be small on some of the cheaper dishes so we always ordered an extra bowl of chips Breakfast - French toast, pancakes, fruit, toast, baked beans. Some variety each day eg coco Lisa one day and panekeke another day. Sometimes breakfast a little cold but not a big deal in the Samoan heat. Good cocktails! Comfortable bed, good shower. Lovely relaxed and friendly staff. Other reviews have mentioned the pool being dirty but this wasn’t the case it was a lovely pool area (though no shade over the water and no deep pool if you are looking for that).

New ZealandThere was no hot water, when we asked about it we were told that yes there was. There was a water heating unit under the vanity, when we checked that it was turned on the hot water outlet wasn't even connected. Had we had hot water we would have been able to over look the other things, like a leaking jug, no where to fill the jug, no where to hang towels or clothes, no mattress protectors, cheap worn sheets etc. I didn't like the cats running around the dinning area, jumping on tables or using the garden planter around the edge of the dinning area as a toilet.
Friendly, helpful staff. All the food that we tried on the menu was lovely. Location for us was great as we had a rental car. It wasn't overly busy, good sun loungers, deck over the water. The gardens were nice and the resort was quiet. Saturday night cultural performance.

AustraliaCats urinating everyday at the front of our room. The cleaners really need to WASH a meter high of the walls & lattice with soap and hot water, not just the tiles with a dirty mop. The poor little cats really need to be removed as they also jump up on restaurant tables. The government needs to fix this massive problem in Samoa. Also, the cook needs to youtube how to properly cook EVERY dish on your menu.
Breakfast was pleasant. Location was excellent.

AustraliaNo hot water for showers. Snorkeling in front of resort is not very good with a pretty strong current that could be an issue for weaker swimmers.
Good sized room with great aircon and good facilities. Comfy bed and pillows. Nice breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. Close to the Pulia cave pools.

New ZealandI had communicated our check in hours prior to arrival, but this wasn't followed up days before we arrived. I'd contacted the resort as soon as we arrived but there was no answer. So when we did arrive, noone was there to check us in and we ended up sleeping in reception. Not ideal after a long day of travelling. The reception area was lovely though, and there were detached bathrooms off to the side, so I'll give them that. Just got a casual apology and still paid for the night without even offering a courteous voucher for a free meal or drinks at least. The place could really use a new chef. The food wasnt really worth what we paid for and the menu was basic. But there are no other eateries or restaurants close by. Even some samoan food like the Sua fa'i wasn't done well - watery and filled with sago. No hot water for showering. Real potential for resort to be greater.
The staff were excellent and could be seen around the property maintaining it and were friendly. When We needed things looked at in the room or room service, reception were quick to respond and updated us at all times. Lots of different room options. The location was great for where we needed. The grounds were beautiful Continental breakfast was basic and the same everyday, but it was lovely with the fresh fruits and some hit food options, suited us well enough.

New ZealandOur tv didn't work. The pool was fairly small and needed a good clean. Overall this resort is in need of renovation. It must have been great 25 years ago.
The bar had wonderful service and a lovely view of the sea. It was in a good location, an easy walk to Piula cave.

New ZealandPlace is a little tired, though the bathroom was beautifully tiled it just needed some finishing touches like hooks to hang towels. It would have been nice to have lines to hang clothes on to dry as well to get them properly dry.
Staff were very welcoming, great location, and the snorkeling was wonderful, especially late afternoon. Rooms were comfortable. Loved the Saturday night show. I would recommend this place so relaxing.

New ZealandToo far out of town. And that the rooms weren't serviced and cleaned daily, no clean linen for 7 days no clean towels for 7 days. And had to ask for more toilet paper, there were no cloths in the rooms to wipe down benches, and when asked for one, we didn't get it. Have the same thing for breakfast, Every day gets boring after a few days. No cooking facilities, and only an expensive menu at their restaurant. Also was surprised about the 4% card fee added on, nothing was said on the site, so was surprised to hear about it when we got there and this was every time you use your card, so best to charge to room and use card once to pay for it all at the end. Had cats hanging around at breakfast, and sometimes they would climb up on tables once people have left, and have multiple dogs hanging around property, mostly harmless.
