Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Australiameals were not so good, half the menu was missing and the meals we did had mash potatoes were cold, some were just terrible and we did not eat them. prices should have been listed on the menu that they were in US dollars as we did not know until the end when we went to pay the final bill. Not sure why its not in local currency? The hotel was very run down and in need of repairs. Would be very helpful if a microwave was supplied in the rooms to reheat food. There is an ironing board but no iron and no hair dryer yet on the website it states they would be supplied.

New ZealandThe complementary breakfast was extremely poor & disappointing.. We stayed at 3 other lesser quality accommodations in Samoa and all the others had far superior complementary breakfasts, including cooked, plus 2or3 types of fruit, plus it was delivered to our room if required. Also, the LeUaina breakfast should go to 10am, 9am is far to early to stop serving breakfast when most of the guests are on vacation!! Also, on numerous occasions our dinner arrived with cold mashed potatoes or cold chips with a hot meal !!

AustraliaFirstly and importantly, they need to make sure their shuttle bus which people had booked actually turns up at the airport on arrival. Our group arrived on two different days, and both days the shuttle bus from the resort did not turn up. A third person we spoke with also had the same experience. We all waited for about an hour at the airport before opting to catch a taxi to the resort. It is not good to be greeted in that way. Not many vegetarian/vegan options and if you are staying for a few days, then it is the same food each day. We went out sightseeing most days, so we ate out a lot and so got variety that way. Although staff were lovely, our group had to chase up any requests. So efficiency and organisational skills could be improved.
The location of the resort is very nice on the waterfront with the restaurant looking out onto the ocean. The staff were all nice and friendly.

New ZealandIt is some distance from the airport and even though transport was complimentary we had to make our own arrangements to get there as no one was at airport to meet us. They did however reimburse our taxi fare. Would suggest when monies available they invest in quality bed linen as fitted sheets came off during nights and there was no mattress protection. We stayed in the premium beachfront units and walls between the units weren't sound proof. Tiles missing from pool which doesn't create a good impression. In saying that, it was great value for money.
Proximity to the reef. Good selection of food and beverages that were available. Staff were friendly. The resort is a little "tired" but that is understandable considering Covid-19.

New ZealandIf we had the choice we would have preferred to book a villa by the pool rather than the garden rooms but unfortunately they were fully booked the time we stayed there.
The staff were very accommodating to our needs whenever we encountered problems with our room.

New ZealandSeating in room was inadequate, as only one chair for two people. Couldn't get the TV to work.
Needs an xtra comfortable chair in room as only one of us could sit down at a time. More lounges out at the pool needed. Breakfast was same every day, maybe some toast and spreads would have been nice.

New ZealandProbably the one slight disappointment was the food. We expected that Samoa would have more local fresh seafood and fruit however perhaps that was due to the time of the year. Breakfast was average and getting optional paid for food was slow. That said we were on island time.
Rooms were clean as was the whole complex. Place is tidy with lovely gardens and a beautiful view out to sea. Loved swimming in the sea off the front of the property which was safe too. Tropical fish to look at in the water. The swimming pool was pretty good and the staff very friendly.

New ZealandTired accommodation in need of maintenance
Our first room had so many problems - but after we raised concerns the staff to their credit changed us to ocean villas for 3 nights - then garden villas for the last 2 nights which were better.

New ZealandFood. Rooms could be better stocked and cleaned upon arrival. Walls are paper-thin, not great for privacy. Internet only accessible at office. Would have been nice for breakfast to have more fruit and toaster would be good for my gf bread, and spreads. Pancakes were very average. When arrived in room, no toilet paper or towels which was hard to ask for help late at night. Staff were super helpful other days. No TV. Limited wifi in rooms. Would be good if known previously that hot water turned off when raining, and it had been raining for a week before we came, so cold on arrival. Only warm showers during sunshine (maybe solar charged?). Info pack in room for tourists on hotel services and locations or interest would have been amazing.
I thought the Samoan food was great, raw fish and healthy meal yum. Anything other than seafood, particularly beef not cooked well. Pool and ocean rooms apparently nicer/more modern than Lily garden ones. Staff were great! Gardens and snorkelling by flags was amazing, lots of tropical fish before high tide. Overall well done for post COVID, recovered well.

New ZealandA little more variation would have been good and sometimes the fruit was not available which was disappointing. Our initial room was very basic and did not suit our needs. We were also upset that we couldnt hire a car although the Resort said they had car hire available and also tours available - but neither of these were possible.
We liked getting breakfast especially the fruit, kids liked the egg bread and pancakes but especially the fruit. The Manager went out of her way to assist us with a better room for our family and helped us book taxis for some outings. We appreciated her friendly assistance.

New ZealandOur Garden Villa room only had beds, there were no chairs and when we did receive a couple for the patio they were basic plastic ones and there were only bright down lights in our room, no lamps. These things would have made the room more comfortable.
The staff at Le Uaina are exceptional, attentive, upbeat and caring. They allowed us to relax into our island holiday immediately and were helpful and considerate with advice. The location on the beach and next-door to volcanic vent swimming caves was awesome. The restaurant meals were good, especially the 'Reef Plate' if you're in to seafood. Traveling with a baby/toddler here was easy and safe. Take one if you haven't got your own:)
