Booking.com gps location was way off and needs to be amended. Our room had no view. but was still beautiful and comfy.

The manor house is desolate during the day. When we went up for a swim, there was literally no one. That was not very inviting. The electricity tripped twice, and we didn't have hot water for a bit. We contacted the nr on booking.com, but it went to voicemail, and no one replied to our message. It was not out for long, but not getting any reply is not great.

Cottage was perfect but it was sad to see the disrepair of the boma and facilities in front of the cottage - bontebok. The breakfast was exceptional and the manor house is beautiful. We loved Franchhoek. It was a sublime 2 days of food, wine and hiking.

It's quite hard when you first went to the accommodation. It's located in very big Wineland consists of many accommodation inside. You should contact the accommodation to let a staff pick you at the gate.

Staying at Chamonix is highlight in our honeymoon trip. Room, facilities, landscape and atmosphere are marvellous.

It is an extremely beautiful area and the property matches. The staff are awesome and so was breakfast. The great wine which you can enjoy while looking down into the valley is an added bonus

Braywell was super attentive and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The views are unsurpassed

The lodge could do with some maintenance and a revamp. Visible holes in the thatch roof and some of the decor getting a bit old and worn. Some basic information on Franschhoek, the set up of the farm would be helpful, as well as better directions to find the lodge.

The initially allocated giraffe room was hot and the small shower needs attention esp as the water floods onto the floor when one showers

The location is just exceptional, its difficult to put it into words Chamonix is simply breathtaking. Nestled at the base of a majestic mountain, this working wine farm is a sanctuary of lush greenery stretching as far as the eye can see. The way the clouds drape over the mountain, like satin or chiffon, creates a scene so serene and otherworldly that you can feel the stress melt away the moment you arrive. The accommodation itself is exquisite. Spacious, tastefully designed rooms and bathrooms offer both comfort and luxury. We stayed in the Marco Polo room, which opens onto a large patio with the mountain as a backdrop—a perfect spot to sip my morning coffee, listen to the birds, and soak in the beauty of nature. The staff at Chamonix are warm and welcoming, with special mention to Belwyn, who was the epitome of hospitality and professionalism. Breakfast was hearty and delicious, setting the perfect tone for the day ahead. The pool area is also immaculately maintained, offering another peaceful retreat. The only minor drawback is the absence of a fridge in the room. While breakfast is provided, guests may find themselves needing to drive into town for meals or snacks later in the day. That being said, this small inconvenience pales in comparison to the sheer beauty and tranquility that Chamonix offers. I would return in a heartbeat. This place is truly a hidden gem—a little slice of heaven on earth.
