Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Water problem in the area. Far from malls and shopping centers. No breakfast and is not self catering friendly.
Friendly and helpful staff. Warm welcome. Close to sun city resort.

TV was not working The microwave was not working The backup power during lockdown was not good.. No network No ice cubes as per our special message in our booking.. One kitchen for all guests

We went for a vacation but came back very tired The place is not a guest house Its a household ran for money They are really running circus
Nothing. They were running a circus The owner must visit other facilities to see how a guest house is run. During load shedding they bring us candles in a beer bottle. Tv is not working Shower doesnt have pressure and curtains Beds are as hard as a rock

The swimming pool is not being maintained and my main reason to book their facilities is the usage of the swimming pool. It is dirty and has not been maintained at all.

i think the room they gave us was not yet complete, because 1 aircon was not working we have to fix it ourselves 2 bathrooms didn't have glasses not yet done 3 Tv was not working 4 its loadshedding time there was no lights , they say we have to buy it ourselves.
The location was very good and nearby the complex and also the sun city .

safety for us and our car was a concern as the gate remains unlocked throughout the night. We came in late from a concert and Sun city and was woken up supper early by noise from staff. Shower rod in our unit didn't work but host was gracious to ask other guests to let us use their shower. There was no adapter of multi plug in the room to charge phones
It's clean.

I get it was self catering, but a coffee/tea station in the room would've been nice. The light bulbs in the room were dead
I liked that it was close to suncity, but it's not a guest house you could book for a staycation. It's an okay place just to lay your head

I canceled my 3rd room as I didn't need it anymore. I sent an email the day before arrival. I got sent from pillar to post. Meaning that I payed for 3 rooms but only used two. I never got my money back for the 3rd room I didn't use 💔

The unprepared room outside, no fan nor aircon, dirty towels, no toilet, no bar fridge, too much mosquitoes that caused us sleepless night. The was totally no arrangements in that room for a guest, worst of not even a single glass nor cups in that room. Very very disappointed and i had to locate to the nearest Rantsho Guesthouse, what a pleasure as always to be there! I thought i was trying a new venture at Dithabeng but what an embarrassment and disappointment. I won't advice anyone to go there! We didn't even have breakfast what a lack of professionalism and communication!
To be honest nothing at all, it was not was what i expected as i have seen the pictures. What a boring Friday.

Our concerns were not entertained at all, i slept on the floor as the bed was so hard , we told the host she advised she will make a plan but when we returned from sun city the bed was not changed we called her she told us that she didn't say she will change the bed and she cut the call in my ear.

We were very inconvenienced to find our rooms not ready. Actually when we arrived at the guest house we found out that the owner booked us at another guest house which was not communicated to us before we arrived, the standard of the guest house she organized for us was very bad, it was terrible. We were not pleased with that arrangement. She had to make another arrangement to accommodate us. Hot water was not enough.... the last two people to bathed with cold water.
We were offered free breakfast for the inconvenience that caused by the owner. Otherwise the breakfast was good.
