The only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't stay longer. Hoping to visit Beaufort West again so I can stay at Kia Ora.

Kia Ora was such a pleasure to stay at. The beginning of my stay started with the friendliest and loveliest pair of hosts coming out to greet me and offering to help me with my bags. They were so welcoming and warm and such great people. The guesthouse had such a homely and unique feel that was beautiful and felt like home and exotic at the same time! The food was absolutely amazing and the rooms were comfortable and great. The common area was a great space to chat with the hosts and get to know them and it felt like building two new friendships. Kia Ora, thank you!

The fact that there was no water when we woke up 😭... Not on the owner's fault, in fact they were very apologetic about it. It's a Beaufort West problem - level 3 water restrictions.

The hospitality was great! The food was absolutely amazing and the host and hostess were super kind, warm and friendly. Sevette is a lovely lady. We enjoyed the breakfast. It really felt like home away from home.

That we had to leave after 3 nights

Upon arrival we met the friendliest host, Sevetta. The electric blanket were switched on and we could just jump in shower and in bed. The crisp white bedding and the way we were received after a long day on the road was exceptional. In the morning we were surprised with a delicious breakfast that boost our energy levels. Initially we were billed for one night, but end up staying another two nights. 💚💚💚 Always difficult to part from good people....Enver and Sevetta Theron are the salt of the earth. We had made lifelong friends and definitely recommend Kia Ora Guesthouse and Coffeeshop to anybody out there. Don't just drive through Beaufort West, without popping-in at the White Castle, former house of CJ Langenhoven.

Rude owner.Had to negotiate for private bathroom at 19H00 pm. Given room 2 and asked to use bathroom in room1. Toilet not working .Did not get the room that we booked. My wife is not his darling.WTF

Booking did NOT indicate that SHARED BATHROOMS applicable. Booking indicated POOL VIEW - room window opened to washing line - NO POOL VIEW. Landlord refused to apologize or accept misleading advert in any way. Full amount due paid in advance - no refund. This is unfair enrichment by landlord. Firstly, to dispel accusations from the hosts, I’ll be upfront that I (stupidly) arrived on the wrong date. We had a last minute change of plans, and in my haste to book I didn’t double check the dates. Secondly, I want to give background that I’ve previously had an issue with a property lying about a private bathroom, hence I double checked THIS on my booking. Check in: arrived to chaos - no person at front desk, had to wander through house to find the lady stating she is still cleaning a room (at 6:30pm)… didn’t ask for my confirmation, but when I said I was IAN she showed me to my room. I could immediately tell this was a shared bathroom situation, so I reacted. She accused me of lying and not double checking the room details, and her husband told me I am not allowed to be rude to his wife. Nevertheless, with a sick wife, they agreed to refund me for the misunderstanding Misleading: as I was leaving, the lady rushed out and stated that I arrived on the wrong date. Her husband tried to make small talk about NZ and laughing about the mess, and again agreed to refund my booking. seeing that I already requested my refund under the bathroom mix up, I left feeling all was in order, and actually turned around to drop off the key I still had. The aftermath: The owner made a U-turn, accusing me of lying on the refund request (although it was a timing thing and me not KNOWING I pitched up on the wrong date until later)… even going as far as saying I was not forthright and honest, and they had to “guide me in that direction” (side note to owner: thanks for assuming I couldn’t be dumb enough to HONESTLY have a date mix up Bottom line: steer away, they are not nearly cup to scratch in terms of professionalism to handle “different” scenarios, and lack the basic decency to keep their word. This review could have been avoided if the owner decided to reply to my detailed timeline and acknowledged their unprofessional behavior in handling this.
