Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandMy partner did have food poisoning on the last day of our stay but hard to pin down exactly the root cause of this.
We had a great stay at Kruger Gate. The view from the pool is fabulous and we could see elephants and giraffes passing in the distance. Safaris were well organised be sure to double check your safari booking upon arrival as not all of our pre booked tours were logged on the system however they sorted this quickly. The room was nice, clean and spacious. The A/C worked very well. I didn’t expect the hotel to have as many rooms as it did and there is a small shop/ cafe which is useful. We booked a couple massage and this was also very good value. The food buffet had good choices and the breakfast had a very good selection.

SwitzerlandOne of the family rooms we were allotted was in the older / non-renovated section, which was rather tacky and needs to be upgraded.
I invited my family for a trip to several places in South Africa. One of the best places we stayed at was the Kruger Gate Hotel. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, the food was excellent, and dinners around the "boma" with a show of African dancing and singing, location fantastic right next to the Paul Kruger gate. The pool with its view to the lake was astounding, with animals coming to drink whilst sipping our cocktails, pool and gym facilities were clean and tidy. Highly recommended. United KingdomThe reception staff were quite rude when arriving at the hotel and they confused the final bill a lot at the end resulting in us having to flag quite a few incorrect charges or lack of charges / tips going to the correct people.
Another amazing trip at the Kruger Gate Hotel! The facilities and location are always incredible! We utilised the spa, which was a absolute treat and the staff were fabulous there. We also went on two safari drives with our range Alex, who I couldn't recommend more highly!! A lovely trip and would definitely recommend to friends and family!

United KingdomOrganisation around safari bookings could be improved: even though we had pre-booked our safari for the first day and had received an email confirmation, the member of staff couldn’t find our booking. Thankfully, there was space and could make a new booking on the day. On our last safari, the safari desk staff gave us the wrong departure time resulting in a rather stressful phone call by the receptionist who was telling us we are holding back the group and that they are all waiting for us. As it turned out a few more people from our group were also given the incorrect departure time. All good in the end but it could certainly have been avoided.
Proximity to Kruger National Park, view of the Sabie River with wildlife roaming freely, exceptional spa treatments, delicious breakfast and dinner, clean and comfortable rooms.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like. The only comment we would make is that the hospitality tray in the room was a bit meagre.
Loved the location so close to Kruger Gate entrance allowing for quick entry at opening time. A lovely piece of luxury. The meals were excellent as were the restaurant staff. We were lucky to be able to view elephants from the pool bar area . The laundry service was great - good value and very efficient. The room and bathroom were spacious and well fitted out.

AustraliaCan't fault a thing, we've had an excellent stay!
Excellent experience from start to finish! Friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, close to Kruger Gate into the Kruger National Park. The food is outstanding with a wide variety of dishes to choose from, we ate way too much! Loved the packed breakfast boxes that you could order for an early departure into the Kruger. Can't recommend this place enough, will definitely stay here again.

India- Lack of coordination between staff at front desk - housekeeping- travel desk. Not sure if this is due to the size of the property. Several reminders made for water but not delivered. On last date, our cab drop to airport was delayed and staff seemed casual about it without informing about it to us. - Lack of variety in buffet dinner (nearly 75% items remain the same on daily basis). Got boring to eat as we were on a 4 night stay.
Large - Resort-ish sort of property. Nicely done up. Very close to the Paul Kruger Gate. Rooms are comfortable.

The way they managed to have a gift shop, a coffee shop and restaurant inside and opened after 6PM. You could get what you needed. Additional to that, the way we were so welcomed. The staff is so warm, and it is consistent.

ItalyGreat location right at the entrance of Kruger National Park. Everything was well organized, including safaris, food/snacks and laundry services. Considered the offered services, I'd say it's good value for money. We arrived by car and did a mix of self-drive and guided safaris, and it turned out to be a good combination to both maximize animal viewings and experience the vastness of the park in a more relaxed way.

United StatesNot necessarily about the property, but minor note about the safari: A little more organization for the pick up would improve getting everyone to there right guide and started quicker. It was a little confusing, but all said and done, Safari was terrific and well done!!
The location was superb being right next to the Kruger gate. Also the property backs up to the natural landscape where we saw elephants, Buffalo, Hippos (while we were there). The food was great considering Breakfast/Dinner are Buffet style. They had lots of options and the food options changed daily. The breakfast packs you get if you’re doing a safari are fuller/larger than expected, offering: (juice, fruit, sandwich, yogurt, crackers, fruit stick, *jerky). There was always a lot of staff around. They were all very pleasant and willing to help you in any way.
